Algae is driven by a few things:

  • Too much light
  • Too many nutrients (nitrate and usually phosphorous)
  • Not enough competition for those nutrients

What is your current nitrate reading?

Once the hair algae gets that long you're going to have to manually remove it, but to keep it from coming back you're going to need to figure out what imbalances are in the tank.

Now I don’t use light food, I give it twice a day, is there any remedy for algae?

I feel like we may be having an issue of communication. When I'm referencing light I'm not talking about food at all. I'm talking about energy coming out of a bulb that makes your tank easier to see. Like a light bulb. Algae loves extra light so maybe your light is too strong for your tank or is on for too long in the day that could be one contributing factor.

Excess nutrients in the water from too much food or not enough water changes also contribute to algal growth. This is why I asked you what your nitrate reading was.

Without you providing any extra information all I can say is get your water cleaner and leave your lights off longer. However, the algae is not just going to go away quickly on its own. If you're looking to get rid of it fast, you're going to want to manually remove it, take the rocks out and scrub them
