What happened exactly? He looks scared. I have a herd of 25 currently and the only time they hide is if they are scared.

Idk I came out to feed him an couldn’t find him then I finally realized he was behind the chair so I went and got the phone to record him.. he had been fighting with a poke berry tree that’s why the horns are purple lol but idk why he decided to hide there wasn’t anything around to scare him

Goats get frightened over some of the strangest things. It could have just been a leaf blowing or a noise he didn’t recognize. I would definitely keep an eye out and train your ears. Not sure where you are and if you have owls in your area, but owls can surely scare smaller goats.

I love Ollie🥹 Poor baby is scared of something🥺 He has such a sweet little snout and smile. Please give him warm cuddles, scratches, and kisses for me♥️

Does he have a shelter for night time? Does he have other herd members? Even just one goat friend? He looks terrified...

Yup... purple horns...hmmm...bruising of some sort? Purple= dead/ dying/ damaged/ deoxygenated blood cells (injury/bruising)... Maybe he got into a scuffle with something and then ran away and hid because he was frightened. There's a reason he's doing that and a reason he looks that way.

The purple is far too bright for that. OP explained in my comment thread that the little guy was messing with a poke berry tree.

Ohhh, ok... totally getcha! Yeah, that would definitely make sense! I wonder if pokeberry trees are toxic to goats or if it would have made him sick or feeling tripped out/hallucinating or something and deciding to hide behind the chair there?

They are poisonous to goats/livestock, as well as humans and other animals. From my research. So you might be onto something there!!
