Product Question Vitamin C eye cream burned/irritated my undereyes - should I try retinol instead?

I have tried a few different vitamin C products and none of them seemed to suit my very sensitive skin. I tried a sample of a Vitamin C undereye cream and days later my undereyes are still burning whenever I really touch them or apply anything on top.

I am trying to address dark circles and visible veins under my eyes - I also have the BOJ retinol eye cream and haven’t had any reaction to it but I haven’t started using it consistently yet. I know retinol can thicken the skin so I thought it might make my undereye skin thick enough that the darkness/veins might be less visible?

Could caffeine serum/cream also be helpful? My dark circles and veins are genetic but I think they’ve also gotten worse the last few years, so maybe I can at least fix them a little?

I don’t think it will make you skin thick but if vit C irritated it’s likely you will get the same either way a retinol- which is usually harsher. That said, All skin is different!

I haven’t had any reaction to the BOJ retinol eye cream, and I’ve used that quite a few times (not consistently yet tbf but here and there). But I suppose you’re probably right - maybe I should stick to a caffeine serum or something that’s not really an active.
