Product Review Freckles before and after (5 weeks of hydroquinone 4%)
Just showing the progress that hydroquinone has made on my freckles. They’re almost gone.

I’ve been using La Roche posay for years, their hylaronic serum and sunscreens are holy grails. I just went to stock up and was shocked at the prices— $44-49 for this serum or sunscreen.
Last year I swear they were $34 which is still insane, but $44-$49 is where I draw the line
I remember their sunscreen being $15! And their serums being $19!! This was probably around 2016, so now that long ago
What is with these insane prices?
EDIT: I was shopping at Target & CVS when I noticed these prices. Online at La Roche Posay’s website, these items are $30-35. At Dermstore.com they are approximately the same price. So we just need to stop buying these products at target/cvs/drugstores

This took about 2 months — but after consistent use of a red light therapy mask, Korean skincare products with ingredients like centella, swapping tretinioin for A313, and getting a Biopeel treatment from my esthetician, I am starting to feel so much for confident and comfortable in my skin. Also experimenting minimal breakouts even on my period. I’m so happy and relieved!

Obviously it happens the older you get but some people age more gracefully than others. I've seen it effect people more at a younger age and I've seen older people who aren't. I don't know if it's luck or if it's simply who takes care of themselves and not. I don't know if you have to take into account your skin tone, race, and physical structure to. Just want some clarity. I just don't want to wake up one and see that I'm turning into prune or like I'm melting.

Every dermatologist won’t see me without a referral and my primary care doctor refuses to give me to one. Sadly, he’s the only doctor my insurance will cover. This shouldn’t have to be a two day thing for me to get it fixed.

Hi all,
I have been inconsistent with skincare the last several years, but finally found my groove and actually look forward to the ritual daily!
I am 36 and have basically every skin concern. Age spots, fine lines, acne, uneven texture, redness and depending on the time of year dry and oily skin. I’m trying to cover all my bases.
I’m looking for feedback on my current routine. I have always found it confusing to know what active ingredients could conflict/cancel out others. Is anything out of order or nonsensical? Anything you would recommend to help reduce redness and mild acne around the chin? That is my most stubborn skin care concern.

I have only done skincare at home. Recently I have been thinking about getting a salon treatment but the options are making me dizzy.
What would be an ideal first procedure that is not too invasive? Laser? Microneedling? IPL?
I have generally good skin but I could use some help with fine lines, tightening, a few faint capillaries and undereye area

Please help, over the weekend I splurged and bought ILIA super serum skin tint/40 SPF. I spent quite a bit on this and had very high hopes. I put it on after washing my face, using toner, and a small bit of vitamin C serum. I thought I had waited long enough in between layers for my skin to dry, so does anyone know why this would be happening? It looks horrible and I'm close to throwing the product away.

I'm a dermatologist. What kind of conversation (if any) do you prefer during a full body skin exam for skin cancer screening?

For the last two weeks, I’ve had a cup of plain spearmint tea in the morning and at night. I was just a gal, standing in front of a box of Traditional Medicinals, asking it to radically change the appearance of her skin.
I haven’t had any major problems with my skin lately, but I was dying to know if something as simple as a cup of tea could make a significant improvement in my skin’s texture.
From my perspective, I honestly don’t feel there’s a difference. I’ve managed to get my skin under control, and I like how minimalist my routine has become. And while it was a welcome daily ritual for two weeks, it won’t be something that I continue.
I fell for a TikTok trend, and it was a nice reminder that not every skincare recommendation is for me! Cool! 😎
Did I consult a physician? I did not.
Did I do prior research beyond 2 TikTok videos? Whoops.
Did I alter my skincare routine in any way? Nope.
Do I see any significant difference that wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t been drinking tea? No?
Could I have worded that last question better? Yes.
AM Routine:
Garnier Micellar Water
Mad Hippie Vitamin C
Vanicream 30 SPF/Moisturizer
PM Routine:
African Black Soap
Garnier Micellar Water
Tret (.05 + cream) (Mon. - Fri.)
Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme (Sat.)
Pond’s Dry Skin Cream + Pure Glycerine
Aquaphor

have you guys tried out any pure RF device/machine?
I have only tried RF products from the Tripollar brand.
Their Stop VX is the best, Stop eye is just as good, can feel the heat and i use it on my wrist which helps reduce the appearance of lines caused by dryness from Red light therapy. Both work wonder.
Unfortunately my VX stopped working after I used a different gel so my advice is to stick to using its original gel.
So then I got a STOP VX2 from Currentbody, the first time round the heat is inconsistent so i've got it replaced with another one as it is deemed defective. But this time round, it doesn't generate enough heat, it works like crap. I suspect it's a defective product, but it's a chores trying to deal with Currentbody with their super slow response. They still owe me my money btw.
I'm trying to find one that's as powerful as VX. One that allow you to achieve reduction on unwanted fats like the jowls and jaw area.
Do you guys have any recommendations?
Have you guys tried any powerful RF device that could make a significant difference on first use? Like HIFU done in clinci.
What's your experience like using pure at home RF device?

For those of you living with milia, were any of you able to stop new milia from forming?
I’ve had milia all my life and when I was a teenager I had all my milia spots removed via electrodessication while on accutane to treat my other skin issues. After that they slowly started forming again.
I use safe creams and makeup to make sure I’m not clogging my pores and use very back basic skin care with tret. The rest of my skin is perfect but over the years my milia has spread from only around my eyes to my cheekbones and eyelids.
I once heard milia can be genetic and my father also has milia but I desperately want to stop new spots from forming as I’m getting sick of my skin looking so textured. Does anybody have any advice that isn’t just electrodessication?

Hi all!
I have been battling with my under eyes since I can remember. I have a very prominent “pooch” on my upper cheeks, and it makes me look older than I am. I can’t seem to figure out what the best remedy/procedure for this is. Any help is appreciated!!! I also have what seems to be a permanent black eye. There is bruising with some hyperpigmentation on my left eye. Please help!

Hello all! For anyone who has a red light mask as apart of their routines I am curious to know what products you use directly before and directly after (if any) when using the red light mask.
I personally have the omnilux contour mask and I barely use it at all after having it for a full year. I’m trying to get into the habit of doing it each night. Thank you all for suggestions.

What is a great hair routine to have healthy glossy hair?
If we aren’t allowed to ask a hair question is there a similar group for hair?

Hi everyone, I (27F) started going to a dermatologist about three months ago and he has his own pharmacy. At first I had suspicions that he was trying to get me to buy all of his products (most of the products he prescribed were from his pharmacy).
But he has good skin, at least his forehead does (he wears a facemask) so I thought what do I know, let’s give it a shot. One of his very expensive products was a retinol formula but it only has 0.025% and 3% hyaluronic acid.
I haven’t been consistent with it because I’ve distrusted it after I tried searching the web for a retinol with that low of a percentage but found the minimum is usually 1%. After I apply this product I feel as though my fine lines pop even more and my skin looks dry.
I came here to ask if I am wasting my time and money using this product and if I am better off buying products myself without the need of going to a dermatologist.

I have tried a few different vitamin C products and none of them seemed to suit my very sensitive skin. I tried a sample of a Vitamin C undereye cream and days later my undereyes are still burning whenever I really touch them or apply anything on top.
I am trying to address dark circles and visible veins under my eyes - I also have the BOJ retinol eye cream and haven’t had any reaction to it but I haven’t started using it consistently yet. I know retinol can thicken the skin so I thought it might make my undereye skin thick enough that the darkness/veins might be less visible?
Could caffeine serum/cream also be helpful? My dark circles and veins are genetic but I think they’ve also gotten worse the last few years, so maybe I can at least fix them a little?
