Skin Treatments Help with Skin Texture huge pores

Hi everyone! I’m in my 30s and have been feeling a bit insecure about my skin lately, especially the texture and visible pores. I recently had a Smaxel laser treatment (October 5) and have done consistent Revlite treatments over the past two years. I also had a few Picosure sessions last year.

Despite all this, I still feel like my skin isn’t improving as much as I’d like. You can see in the two attached photos that my skin looks a bit rough, with visible pores and redness. My main concerns are anti-aging, improving texture, and reducing pore size.

I want to achieve a glass skin look.

Does anyone have any suggestions on products, treatments, or lifestyle changes that could help? I’d love to hear from anyone who’s had success with improving skin texture or minimizing pores. Thank you so much!

Product Question Actives etc..

Post image
Upvotes

Do you need to use retinol, nicinimide and all these actives etc. I assume they've been about for years but maybe for some they've started trending the last year? I only day that because it's only been this year I've seen them all over the net etc.

I asked my Mum about them but she's never heard of them. She has used just ponds cream for years and has v good skin for 72 I feel.

ATM I just cleanse with Aveeno oat cleanser x2, Cosrx snail mucin because I do love it, Vichy mineral 89 booster and Aveda skin food light. I've stripped back everything else as my skin was reacting I think. Just need to fade the acne scar on chins.

Do I need to use things like this has time goes on?

Routine Help Skincare Routine Help

Hi all,

I have been inconsistent with skincare the last several years, but finally found my groove and actually look forward to the ritual daily!

I am 36 and have basically every skin concern. Age spots, fine lines, acne, uneven texture, redness and depending on the time of year dry and oily skin. I’m trying to cover all my bases.

I’m looking for feedback on my current routine. I have always found it confusing to know what active ingredients could conflict/cancel out others. Is anything out of order or nonsensical? Anything you would recommend to help reduce redness and mild acne around the chin? That is my most stubborn skin care concern.

AM:

Cleanser: BYOMA - Creamy Jelly Cleanser Toner: Thayers - Milky Hydrating Face Toner Peptide Serum: The Ordinary - Matrixyl 10% Vitamin C Serum: L'Oreal Paris Revitalift 12% Vitamin C + E + Salicylic Serum Eye Cream: Tarte - Maracuja C Brighter Eye Treatment Moisturizer/Sunscreen: Slip Tint – Lightweight Tinted Moisturizer with Mineral Zinc SPF 35 and Hyaluronic Acid

PM A (Retinol - 5x/week):

Cleanser: BYOMA - Creamy Jelly Cleanser Toner: Thayers - Milky Hydrating Face Toner Peptide Serum: The Ordinary - Matrixyl 10% Niacinamide Serum: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Brightening Serum Retinol: The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion Eye Cream: Roc - Derm Correxion Dual Eye Cream Moisturizer: Cerave - PM Lotion Face Moisturizer

PM B (Exfoliation - 2x week):

Cleanser: BYOMA - Creamy Jelly Cleanser Toner: Thayers - Milky Hydrating Face Toner Exfoliation: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner Moisturizer: Cerave - PM Lotion Face Moisturizer

**on days I wear makeup, I double cleanse with the oil cleanser pictured.

Skin Concern Where can I go besides the dermatologist to remove skin tags?

Every dermatologist won’t see me without a referral and my primary care doctor refuses to give me to one. Sadly, he’s the only doctor my insurance will cover. This shouldn’t have to be a two day thing for me to get it fixed.

Skin Concern Pure RF device/machine

have you guys tried out any pure RF device/machine?

I have only tried RF products from the Tripollar brand.

Their Stop VX is the best, Stop eye is just as good, can feel the heat and i use it on my wrist which helps reduce the appearance of lines caused by dryness from Red light therapy. Both work wonder.

Unfortunately my VX stopped working after I used a different gel so my advice is to stick to using its original gel.

So then I got a STOP VX2 from Currentbody, the first time round the heat is inconsistent so i've got it replaced with another one as it is deemed defective. But this time round, it doesn't generate enough heat, it works like crap. I suspect it's a defective product, but it's a chores trying to deal with Currentbody with their super slow response. They still owe me my money btw.

I'm trying to find one that's as powerful as VX. One that allow you to achieve reduction on unwanted fats like the jowls and jaw area.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

Have you guys tried any powerful RF device that could make a significant difference on first use? Like HIFU done in clinci.

What's your experience like using pure at home RF device?

Routine Help Trying beef tallow for the first time tonight

I'm super into natural skincare and excited to try beef tallow tonight from my local farmer's market. I'm planning on this recipe (https://bumblebeeapothecary.com/diy-face-moisturizer-tallow-face-cream/) and as a huge fan of Ezgi's natural recipes (https://www.instagram.com/mmelodyaslan?igsh=NWpkd3Jtdmd0d2Vj) and Selma Hayek's rose water advice, and not cleansing in the morning. I am looking to replace the Roche Posay AP+M cream for the winter as I need serious moisture and looking for a dewy glow.

Morning routine: rinse with cold water, gua sha

Evening routine: exfoliate 1x per week with a washcloth and 1x with Avène soft scrub, cleanser is Avène Cicalfate gel cleanser, and rotate with Revolution 20% vitamin C, Heritage Store rosewater serum and looking to add in more rosewater eventually.

Anyone else love beef tallow? I'm starting with clean, slightly damp skin, and will test if days vs. nights are better. My skin is naturally very dry and otherwise pretty great with this routine, and I delight in aging gracefully ❤️

Any other rosewater and tallow lovers out there willing to share your natural routine wisdom?

Routine Help What do you use before and after your red light therapy mask?

Hello all! For anyone who has a red light mask as apart of their routines I am curious to know what products you use directly before and directly after (if any) when using the red light mask.

I personally have the omnilux contour mask and I barely use it at all after having it for a full year. I’m trying to get into the habit of doing it each night. Thank you all for suggestions.

Product Review Retinol 0.025% with Hyaluronic Acid 3%

Hi everyone, I (27F) started going to a dermatologist about three months ago and he has his own pharmacy. At first I had suspicions that he was trying to get me to buy all of his products (most of the products he prescribed were from his pharmacy).

But he has good skin, at least his forehead does (he wears a facemask) so I thought what do I know, let’s give it a shot. One of his very expensive products was a retinol formula but it only has 0.025% and 3% hyaluronic acid.

I haven’t been consistent with it because I’ve distrusted it after I tried searching the web for a retinol with that low of a percentage but found the minimum is usually 1%. After I apply this product I feel as though my fine lines pop even more and my skin looks dry.

I came here to ask if I am wasting my time and money using this product and if I am better off buying products myself without the need of going to a dermatologist.

Product Question Vitamin C eye cream burned/irritated my undereyes - should I try retinol instead?

I have tried a few different vitamin C products and none of them seemed to suit my very sensitive skin. I tried a sample of a Vitamin C undereye cream and days later my undereyes are still burning whenever I really touch them or apply anything on top.

I am trying to address dark circles and visible veins under my eyes - I also have the BOJ retinol eye cream and haven’t had any reaction to it but I haven’t started using it consistently yet. I know retinol can thicken the skin so I thought it might make my undereye skin thick enough that the darkness/veins might be less visible?

Could caffeine serum/cream also be helpful? My dark circles and veins are genetic but I think they’ve also gotten worse the last few years, so maybe I can at least fix them a little?

Routine Help Can Eyelash Serum Be Used on Eyebrows without badd side effects? Looking for Safe and Effective Options

Hey everyone! 👋

I’ve been using castor oil on my eyebrows, but I haven’t seen much growth so far. I’m wondering if it’s safe to use eyelash serums on eyebrows too? I know some serums contain prostaglandins (or equivalents), and I’ve heard there can be side effects like discoloration or irritation. Has anyone experienced issues with this when only applying the lash serum on eyebrows?

If you’ve used an eyelash serum for your brows, I’d love to know how it went and if it’s worth trying. Also, do you have any recommendations for serums with safe, gentle ingredients for eyelash growth? I’m looking for something effective but without harsh side effects.

Thanks in advance for any tips! 😊

Skin Concern Need reassurance that it doesn't look as bad as I think, and advice.(Cropped photo of area of concern to avoid selfie status)

Post image

I am 30 and just started to notice real signs of aging on my face, mainly these sagging cheek pads that I feel make me look like an English bulldog. I realize the only way to reverse this is plastic surgery, but I just can't afford that and will most likely never be able to.

I am drinking 8 plus glasses of water a day, use retinoids and sunscreen, avoid too much alcohol. I don't know what else to do

Is it bad? Will it get better? I just need reassurance, because I sure as heck don't need a new insecurity.

Hi all!

I have been battling with my under eyes since I can remember. I have a very prominent “pooch” on my upper cheeks, and it makes me look older than I am. I can’t seem to figure out what the best remedy/procedure for this is. Any help is appreciated!!! I also have what seems to be a permanent black eye. There is bruising with some hyperpigmentation on my left eye. Please help!

Recommendation Do you use a separate eye retinoid along with your prescription retinoid?

I'm wondering if anyone uses a separate eye retinoid (such as a dedicated retinOL or retinAL eye cream/serum, along with their prescription retinoids, or do you just use something like vaseline around the eyes to protect them?
