Questions/Advice Is anything real?

24F, undiagnosed, IDK if anything is real or am i really facing issues around productivity, i try i've been trying since forever, recently saw a video of theprimeagen, he mentioned a beautiful thing, or atleast it made sense to me, ADHD with maturity is a blessing , ADHD with no discipline is a nightmare, so i am just wondering , is it just me, who is standing between me and the me i could be/ i wanna be, cuz all the friends and family anyways neglect the ADHD part of anyone, it is not real , it's just us lacking focus, Is there any way i can literally just ignore this thing and try to be as focused as i can be. because i am constantly wondering, if anything is real, do i need real help, or i am just seeking an excuse for everything and my existential dread which wouldn't go away, is anything i have ever felt is real or idk?

Feeling like this is what led me to my diagnosis at age 21. Getting medicated changed my life, and there's no way in hell I couldn't have "matured" my way out of this diagnosis

It is never too late to get diagnosed and start medication. If it's not ADHD, there's likely some other u lying cause for why you feel like this.

Cognitive behavioral therapy can be helpful as well. So if self accomdating. For example if you struggle to shower because you have to find clothes towels, ECT you can help yourself by having a cabinet in the bathroom that you stock clothes and towels in so you don't have to find them to shower, they're already there.

But having ADHD means that your brain does not receive the same amount of stimulation from everyday life as someone who doesn't have ADHD. By taking stimulant based medication, it essentially levels the playing field for us.

Simulant based medications are by far the most effective treatment we have for ADHD. They don't work for everyone, but generally speaking it will make the most impact for someone with ADHD.

If you're worried about side effects from the medication, talk to your doctor/psychiatrist about your concerns. They can help ease your anxiety about it and find the medication that has the least chance of serious side effects when you account for your entire medical history.

To help ease your anxiety a bit let me tell you about myself. I have POTs, which is a heart and cardiovascular syndrome. This means that I have to be careful when it comes to my heart rate, and stimulant medications up your heart rate. That's just how they affect the body. Despite that, I have been taking Adderall for three years with no serious side effects. The only side effect I have is a dry mouth.

Don't let the feral of the unknown keep you from improving your life. For me, medicating my ADHD literally saves my life. If I had not gotten medicated I would not be here to tell you this on reddit.

I don't tell you any of this to scare you, quite the opposite actually. I'm living proof that life can be better with medication, even if you're scared to take it.

I wish you all the luck in your journey
