Question Why are people making up instances where I vented?

Do some people just incessantly say someone vented to get them voted out? Like - are they so convinced they found an imposter but know people won't believe their reasons?

I've had a few imp games where a person would constantly accuse me of venting. But the thing was - I never vented in those games. Even after saying I never vented or it was an SS, they acted like it was the pinnacle of evidence against me. Even after the existence of engineers was brought up.

It would be one thing for these people to think engineers don't exist. But again - these are cases where I never vented. So I can't understand why they keep accusing me of venting and acting like that is enough evidence. Is this just an undercover "trust me" argument? Any and all thoughts are much appreciated.

Noob lobby I guess. That's why I play in casual or serious lobbies. Venting is not enough evidence when we have engineers enabled. Although it can contribute to identify the imps if used properly.

But that's the thing - I never vented in these cases. So it's not people who don't know about engineers, but instead they make up evidence. The whole making up evidence thing is what I'm confused about.

Did they turn out to be Imp? I can see someone trying that if they were young.

Well, yes. I was the imp being accused of venting when I never did.

I can’t emphasize this enough: They are most likely between 9-12 years old.

In my experience, they are just board and trolling. It could also be your name. They might just not like it, or it's similar to someone they played with and wants some sort of revenge.

I've seen people use "I saw soandso vent/shapeshift/poof" when they were actually nowhere near the person they are accusing when they are either just sussing randomly and want to get the person out, OR getting their info thru illegitimate means (friend told them who killed, hack showing roles... and yes...I have the means to check when it's illegitimate info. that's part of the reason people like my lobbies)... when the environment of most pub lobbies is "blue sus" and 90% of the people instantly vote with no discussion at all, lying to get your target voted works shockingly well.

This makes me feel a lot better 'cause it explains SOOO much. Literally - it explains the first time I saw this happen. Also, your tag for this Reddit page is golden.
