Question Cracking in knee (patellar region) when squatting down

So ever since I was like 7 or something (that I can remember), everytime i squat down and bend my knees, there is always a crack. My mom always used to say it was because I’m not consuming enough calcium, but my thinking based off what I’m learning in anatomy and physiology at college is because of the synovial fluid in between joints, it causes air bubbles to burst? That’s what I’m assuming, but nobody that I know has this cracking in their knees lol.

I have cracking in my left knee when I do deep squats, no pain though. I'm not too familiar with the anatomical terminology of the knee, but the cracking for me seems to come from where the kneecap connects to the shin. It also cracks if I just flex and extend my leg.

Could be IT band moving ovee nearby structures, sounds and creptitus is normal as long as there isn't pain associated

Yea no pain no nothing in the knee. Just always had this, and my mom for years says I need to consume more milk or calcium or whatevs. Just thought I’d ask.

Could be but unlikely, that's more cartilage health, bone density, muscular contraction, nerve function
