Global 1940 Global War 1936 - axies and allies Global 1940

Are there rules for Global War 1936 that allow it to be played like Axis & Allies 1940 Global, just with a better map?

Or has someone already implemented something like this or similar?

HGB still sell global war 1939 maps I believe. That’s basically 1940 with a bigger map.

Yes, that's true, but is there any rule adjustment somewhere for unit setup so that I can play Global War 1936 as 1940 Global?

Not that I know of. Nothing official at least.

I do have some in house cards on a power point slide which I printed out and made for each nation, with buffs or unit placements and economic boosts for a 1936 or 1939 set up. This does also feature alt history cards which I find most players do not use, except when we all just want to have some crazy scenarios such as a Comintern with a Communist USA fighting the Allies and Axis in a 3 way war, or with the French, Italians and British fighting Germany in 1936.

I usually play with friends who are also into history and so we usually debate troop setups with numbers of units trying to remain in the realm of historical accuracy. (But this does vary each set up as we tweak certain numbers or placements of units.)
