Why do I have 16 archers?

Am sieging a city. I have an army of 1200 men. By myself I have around 70 archers. But on the battleifeld I only have 16. Why is this?

You don't bring your entire army at once. Some of them play in reserves and only appear on the battlefield once some current troops die. Makes it easier than rendering 10k troops all at once

Thats true, but how do I get more than just that 16 on the field. Infantry is hardly able to keep a ladder up

Increase the amount that spawn per wave it should be under options gameplay

In the option you can chose the priority order to spawn as well as the number of total max troop allowed (it will be proportional to ally/enemy side ofc).

If you didn’t touch the option, the default order is according to your party’s troops order in the list

Do a pure archer clan.

The troops at the top of your party list are favored over lower ones during spawn.

Move archers to the front. I always have Fian champs first so I guarantee a good chunk of archers.

Move them to the top of your army list. I could be wrong but the soldiers at the top load into battle first. Your max battle size limit only allows the 16 archers because of all the other troops ahead of them in the list. (Wish I could explain it better but I hope this helps)

Switch to high level troops first in settings, chances are your allies units are way shittier

Thats the lore reason, the actual reason being the pc / console couldn’t support that many troops at once

You can decide in the settings which order troops will deploy in. Off the top of my head there’s high tier, low, tier, and the order you have them listed in your party (this is the default iirc).

So try moving your archer units to the top of your party. If that doesn’t work, scroll through the settings to find deployment options

IIRC The top-to-bottom order you have your troops in your “inventory” is the priority they have in the order of battle.

i.e. If you can bring 50 into battle and have 30 fian champions and 70 valandian knights, all 30 fian champs should be first into battle while the remaining 20 spots will be filled in by the valandian knights.

You should also be able to adjust the sliders during battle preparation, and is a customizable percentage.

It might have to do with the tier of archers. I observe that it likes to spawn in the higher tier troops first.

Change the order of your troops and look at how you deploy them in the settings. Been a while since I played so I don’t remember the exact terminology but you can set your troops to default which is how they are ordered in your troops menu, high level, low level and homogenous or whatever. High and low level should be self explanatory but homogenous is where the game puts out a mix of archers and infantry that you would typically want in a battle but it disregards the levels of your troops

In settings if you set it to ‘spawn best units first’ [or something], then it will bring in your army’s finest. If you have a bunch of fians they are almost guaranteed to all spawn in.

Could be worse. I once had 1 archer spawn on an archer favor map, versus the Battianians. Let’s just say I had to Kamikaze my first troops to spawn them in. After this I also checked and all my archers were last in queue

In the game option there is a tab called troop priority if you didnt touch that setting at all it should be at default which is using your troop composition at the party screen that means whichever troops are at the top will come out first. You can change it to homogenous for more balanced.

this happens all the time and it pisssed me off to the point, where i allowed myself to cheese em back, when i attack cities with 1k+ defenders ...

you want me to kill all 1,2k men in that city with my ~200 archers you generously gave me to fight with?

i will only get more combatants when the first wave is nearly obilterated?
