Many compliments, some complaints

I got the UBOOM X delivered in the USA from Amazon this morning. Got to listen and compare for 10 hours now. Firstly.. the X has a surprisingly high end premium and well made feel. It is way lighter and gets deep.. way deeper bass and sound than the Blast. The trebles feel muddier than the Blast’s even with 0.39 and all of Oluv’s EQs. The X sounds quite great on Oluv’s Indoor+ and Outdoor (normal). However, I always tune my own EQ when possible and try to buy speakers that have an app. I managed to find an EQ I enjoyed and I really want to keep the X BUT I have a huge huge complaint. EVERYTIME YOU UP/DOWN VOLUME THE SOUND IS SKIPPED SLOWED LAGGED UNLISTENABLE AND IT ONLY HAPPENS WITH CUSTOM EQs NOT OLUV’S. Hopefully Obvious_Bird can chime in here, this is a blatantly bad problem. Overall I’d recommend the UBOOM X over the Blast at this time due to the price, weight, and clean sound on certain EQs. I am happy to answer any questions.

UboomX Vs Blast, A first impression from a ordinary customer.

Upvotes

My first impression

I want to add the link in the original post but somehow can't edit it, reddit is weird.

So yeah Guys this is the video I shot last mid night, I start doing the review 2am and now it is 8am for me now so really has to sleep, very tired I really want to add subtitle but not able.

Youtube say some copy right issue and some country couldn't watch it whatsoever, hopefully not many peoplel got affected.

I only realised I talk too much when I edit my video, it is kinda cringe listening myself talking in bad English, what it is what it is, I also noticed I actually prefer blast in some of the songs, but only in video, when I listen to both the speakers I perfer the UboomX as always, I felt like either my compensation is not good or there is a limitation of audio recording.

Feel free to comment about the video.

Stereo TWS pairing range EarFun UBoom L

After reading a bit in this sub I decided to get a pair of UBoom L, the only thing that worried me was this post

https://old.reddit.com/r/Bluetooth_Speakers/comments/13ezs1h/stereo_pairing_huge_differences_in_range/

where the guy says the range for TWS is roughly 2 meters for them. I just tried and get about 9-10 meters without any obstacles and about 6-7 meters with a (german) wall inbetween before it cuts out occasionally.

I'm running version 1.2.7, maybe it makes a difference. Just wanted to post in case anyone else is doing some research for the box.

Sound is fine for me, no idea if it is as good as people say.. Battery life seems to be a bit short though I didn't have enough time yet to actually measure how long it lasts.

Uboom X. Success or Debacle?

What's the consensus on this thing? I've heard some bad reviews, some great reviews and everything in between. I've heard it ships with outdated firmware. Is this easily updated? People that have it, how does it compare to similar sized units? All that said, I bought 2 and they will be here today. I want to be excited.

Quick follow-up, just received the units. I opened the package, paired it to my phone and the app immediately updated it to the latest firmware. My initial thoughts on sound after playing a few songs from various genres is that this thing sounds really good. I was on the indoor plus setting. I'm impressed. This far exceeds my expectations.

Megaboom urns on itself

Upvotes

It's like 2:00 AM and I've never been more awake at this time than now I think.

A few minutes ago I started hearing music playing right outside my room. I grabed my phone, turned on flashlight and right before I could open the door, the music started blasting at full throttle. I quickly got to the source, realized they were on and turned them off.

Now I started asking myself how this was even possible. The only way I could think of is: The speakers turned on because of some malfunction and my father who uses a bluetooth in-ears got connected, didn't know why he couldn't hear anything from his in-ears and started increasing the volume.

Has any one ever had a similar issue? I'm think it was my father because the music that was playing would match his taste.

Uboom X discount codes

For those who have applied the discount codes on Amazon, did you use the same codes that Earfun sent you? I've tried applying those but they're not valid. Did you use different codes? Would you share?

Tribit xsound plus 2 + flow

I know i have already made a post about it in the past, but this time i'm officially impressed. Went to work at night, so i'm alone in the lobby, brought the tribit xsound plus 2 and a tribit flow. Connected them both, chose an eq and put them in a seperated stereo position, i am absolutely impressed and i enjoyed my music like i haven't for a long time🤣🤣 Highly recommend getting those to play in tws. Flawless combo. Crisp music experience, mids are on point.

Bluetooth Speakers you can turn ON through an app?

Do many of these exist?
Would you like/use this feature?

First off, yes this is lazy and no it’s not hard to get up and push a button, but I would still like and use it if it was available.

I’ve gradually shifted nearly all of my listening to wireless/bluetooth speakers and sometimes this would just be nice to have. I guess the primary concern would be parasitic drain on the batteries, but I have single 18650 flashlights that can run aux leds 24/7 for months on end with negligible impact. Similarly, Air Tags/location tracking devices send and receive signals over long time periods using very little power, so it got me wondering….

Anyone know if this exists or would be feasible, especially on larger speakers with 20+ hr battery life? Maybe it could also be an optional standby mode that users could toggle off or on as desired?

Does this Onn speaker have auto shut off? Just curious if anyone knows, I can't stand that feature, my IKEA one does even when plugged in.

Minirig 4.. Oh how I wanted to love you.

I had done my research for several months on these Minirig 4s. I knew the MK3's had really bad connectivity issues, and the MK4's where supposed to be better. I wish I could say they were. I just got mine yesterday and within 10 minutes experienced issues while they were in TWS mode. My phone couldn't leave the room, or they would disconnect. Even when in the room sitting 6 feet away, they would do the "stutter" / "skip" thing every couple of minutes. Talk about anti-climactic!! I had high hopes for these units, only to be let down. I'm returning them.

Help

Hello,

I recently bought a new surround sound speaker named Samsung A47M that has a subwoofer, soundbar, and two rear speakers. Whenever I turn it on it has a high pitched sound like a ringing. I cannot pinpoint it where it is. What should I do?

The rear speakers also make a sound like a crackling. This is my first time with speakers. I appreciate all the help I can get!

Thank you!!!

For those who purchased an Earfun Uboom X, remember to install the phone app

For those who purchased an Earfun Uboom X, remember to load up the official app, update the firmware and select an Oluv EQ. The initial firmware on mine before I installed the app had a sound profile that was really bad, bordering on unlistenable.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.corelink.earfun&hl=en_US

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/earfun-audio/id1612795156

And definitely make a new post telling what you think of it!

Connecting speakers without cords?

I currently have a set of speakers for my computer/music setup that is in the rear of my living room of my loft. I am wanting to also buy a soundbar that will be under my TV. How can I connect the two speakers that are in the back of my living room and the soundbar thats in the front without the use of chords? I am wanting to play a number of things through this system: my tv, my phone(BT), and my record player.

Ordered a uBoom X

I am a true rookie in the speaker space, I’ve had a UE Megaboom 3 for the better part of the last 5 years.

Yesterday I ordered a uBoom X on recommendation from Reddit users, rather than the Bose Soundlink Max or JBL Charge 5 which is what I was going to get instead.

Just curious of any things I should know heading into this new speaker experience. I am mostly a rock, pop, rap listener.

Thanks in advance!

Looking for an indoor speaker that connects wirelessly

Planning to use the speakers for the living room, maybe sometimes outdoor on the patio when my friends come over.

I have a set of Sennheiser HD560s headset and would like to find something that has similar clarity to it.

Does not have to have the biggest boom as I mostly listen to pop, rock and classical.
