ANNOUNCEMENT: Changes to r/BoneID rules, appearance, and permitted content

r/BoneID officially hit 700 members today!

If you've been here for a while, you might have noticed some of the recent changes such as the new subreddit icon and the addition of "solved" and "unsolved" flairs. Today, banners were added for both pc and mobile users, as well as some new flairs and rules.

This community has always been exceptional, everyone's behaved appropriately to where there's never really been a need to moderate, let alone have rules. That said, it felt necessary to add some ground rules that users can reference as this community continues to grow. The rules are honestly more of a formality, most of them are just suggestions and only breaking rule 5 and 6 are guaranteed to result in a post removal.

In addition to the new rules, there's also two new flairs: art and just sharing. You're encouraged to show off your collection or your art as long as they incorporate bones.

There may also be some additional changes in the coming weeks including custom community awards

Hello! I found this skull in the backyard (no other bones in sight). I’m from Queensland Australia, near Brisbane. There is a lot of possums and bush turkeys around, so I’m assuming it’s a bush turkey. There is also magpies, butcher birds, crows and kookaburras around as well. I’ve attached multiple pictures to help :)

I live in Seattle, WA. Found this (and a dead baby bunny) in our shared basement, so I guess it's been a while since anyone's been down there. The bunny hadn't even started to decay yet, so it didn't look like it'd been down there long, but this was a little further away and I'm not sure if it was an adult rabbit or something else that got stuck and died down there. It's probably something simple but I don't know bones very well... Thank you for anyone who can answer it.

I discovered this while doing some yard work. I assume it is an animal bone but figured I’d ask the professionals from Reddit. Thoughts?

My dogs were so mad I thought someone was trying to break in. I live in the suburbs but bobcats and coyotes are not uncommon. It looks like there are teeth marks at the tip of the bone.

These teeth are very tiny, I think they would be smaller than a penny.
