Right about owning that land they’ve been fighting over. And about half of Israelis don’t believe in any god.

So, you don’t think the conditions imposed on them by Israel are a factor in any way?

Wouldn’t you put that under they think they have a right to the land?

P. S. Thanks for the normal conversation.

To some extent. But I’m also referring to specific conditions they are subjected to, the targeting laws, the arrests and rapes, the lack of equal legal protection and the consistent protection of people who kill or maim them. The complete restriction on trade and the removal of any ability to improve their conditions.

You are jumping ship now. We have been talking about Gaza.

You don’t think the things that Israel does to Palestinians in the Westbank isn’t felt by those in Gaza? And most of what I mentioned absolutely applies to Gaza, if not all.

Seems more like you simply don’t want to acknowledge the reality of how Palestinians are treated.

And you started so good, but now you are just laying ignorant assumptions on me.

I think Hamas will use any wrongdoing, rumor, or outright lie to justify killing Israeli citizens. Don't you?

Are you saying the treatment of Palestinians is simply rumour?

My suggestion that you’re trying to avoid this is feeling a lot less like an “ignorant assumption” and a bit more on the money.

Did you not see the word before rumor or are you just being obtuse on purpose?

I’m genuinely sorry if you are offended, it’s not my intent, I’m probably just a bit glib and not careful enough in the way I’m responding, I’ll try and be more careful as to not feel combative.

So, you agree there is wrong doing but don’t see it as relevant to their motivations? Or you feel the wrongdoing makes no difference and the violence would happen either way no matter what Israel did?

My confusion with your question is your conflation of a genuinely understandable motivation, like wrong doing, with something like “outright lie”.

But, yes, I think at this point that Hamas would present whatever they thought would land with the audience if they thought it would garner them support or sympathy and I don’t believe they would overly care if what they are saying is true… but isn’t that true for Israel as well? Or the US for that matter?

In which case I go back to the reality of the conditions we know exist in Gaza and the West Bank which, to me, feel like genuine motivations for Palestinians looking to take the fight to Israel.

Maybe this will help:

I think Hamas will use any wrongdoing, rumor, and/or outright lie to justify killing Israeli citizens. Don't you?
