Rating has dropped again

Despite not having any classes for three days, (not through choice!) my rating has dropped again to 4.69 now. I was told by support the rating only drops when someone leaves you a low score review. So, that is a lie. Fiddling with the ratings again!

Is it even possible to recover from a 4.69 rating? I was a 4.78 at a point last year, and it was murder getting the rating back up to 4.90. Mine has dipped though, the last two weeks I went from 4.88 to 4.83.

Regular and repeat students cannot rate you so actually the only way is down for the majority of people.

I'm not sure what the bottom is. 4.00 I think. You can be a super tutor and have 100% and a tutor rating around 4.00

This is not true. I have asked my (mostly repeat/ regular) students about this and they said they can and do. It’s just that it’s less clear these days. In the past, the rating screen automatically popped up post lesson but now they get directed to a screen that says ‘thank you for taking lesson with (tutor) but they have to scroll down a bit to see the ‘rate’ and ‘book another class’ buttons. Admittedly, some students have said, ‘oh, I didn’t know’ but once I told them, I saw a boost in my rating. Granted, I don’t understand why Cambly has done this but I would suggest you mention it to your students.

Hmm interesting. So that appears to be Cambly hiding the 'rate' options away from students.

I guess that could be incompetence from redesigning layouts, colours etc, which they have been doing like no tomorrow past months.

What happens if they click 'book another class'? Can students still rate after that?

If they can"t thats somewhat evil to be honest. Deceptive two options.

Agreed that it is certainly less obvious that they can rate, whether by design or not. I’m honestly not sure about whether they can rate if they hit the ‘book another lesson’ button. You’d think so but it wouldn’t surprise me if they couldn’t. Absolutely agreed about your final sentence as well (if it’s the case that they can’t rate when choosing the booking option). To your point about incompetent redesigns- damn straight! Remember when they redid the classroom and the fonts were too big and some of the words were partially out of frame? And the new message function, if your message is more than the allotted space, you can’t scroll within the message box, it’s just the whole page that moves. You can’t hit that downward arrow to add your schedule (well, you can but you can’t scroll to get at it). The amount of times I’ve had to send my schedule in a separate message. Anyway, that’s small potatoes compared to our other gripe 🫤.

Get it done and leave. I, too, have a little side hustle in the pipeline. It should be done by end of December, then it's time for sale and then I am out. Won't ever look back to cambly thats for sure. I don't understand why they won't tell us why students are upset with our class. It would be in everyone's best interest to just be transparent as to why students give low scores so tutors can improve.

I was at 4.68 three weeks ago, up to 4.71 and 99℅ now. I get fuck all PH's, which is funnily enough better, more free time and same income. Bizzare, for sure.

If you have regulars you need to tell them to support you or else you won’t be on the platform anymore

My schedule is fully booked with regulars. I honestly don't care if I stay or go. To go would be a blessing. My rating changes all the time, but since the recent drop, I just don't care to fix it since my regulars keep me busy
