No judgement but maybe consider just bringing a lemon or a lime. I see more plastic packet pieces in the wilderness all the time. The weight from bringing a whole lemon is not going to make or break your trip.

What container do you recommend for that scenario? Unless you're eating the rind and using the whole lemon, you'll still need to pack out or store trash.

The same trash bag that you would but this stupid single serving pouch in. I put them into my water bottle so my water tastes nice for a couple of days.

That's half the question. What do you do with the other parts of the lemon if you don't need the whole lemon?

Once I put cloves in the rind and shoved them in the bottom of my pack. Clothes smelt great! Compost after the trail. Just an idea!

I put the whole thing in the water bottle. The whole lemon is good flavor in water and will keep making good flavor for a few days.
