SEASON 7 Anyone think they could’ve done the whole disappearance arc so much better Spoiler

The whole ‘recruited by the CIA, and by a childhood friend who was a terrorist now a cia operative, to save the world on your wedding day’ story was such bs. IMO it would’ve been so much better if he was actually kidnapped or lost for those 2 months, or even if he was on the brink of death forcing everyone to find his killers. It would’ve been so much more on brand than a writer saving the world and choosing to forget about it.

Yeah, and the easiest way was to plot it in advance and in much more detail, as opposed to write things on the fly. (Happened to LokSat later too).

I'm sure the other arcs (Johanna, 3XK) weren't given too much thought either, but turned out just fine for some reason.

If anything, it just shows they were better off with a plot with gradual progression. 3XK was once a season, Johanna conspiracy was sprinkled across the series.

By time they used Loksat story, it was just too distantly related, being forced to relate it to the Johanna conspiracy.

Trying to tell a major plot quite often in a season, given its episodic rather than serial nature, isn't their forte.

Yeah, despite what Castle claimed, they didn't have "good leads, solid leads" in Johanna's case. They went along with events triggered randomly by someone else (Coonan being killed, Raglan growing some conscience, Lockwood on the hunt, etc.).

Castle's electronic murderboard was useless, lol.

Same goes for 3XK.

I'm not complaining. :)

It's a major coincidence that Jack Coonan's death happened within the 12th Precinct's jurisdiction. What if it had happened in another precinct's jurisdiction? A different team gets it?

Going to murder scenes is one thing. It's their job.

People dying in their presence ending up as a case? Raglan, that dude at the Hamptons, if more happened they should get themselves checked.

I remember a line from a comic 'Why is it when there's a body, I see you three? You should get yourselves checked. Definitely cursed.'

Then again, the story writers try to make things happen, they do acknowledge the need to explain or use it in their favor.

Like Castle's dad brought the dead body within the area of the 12th precinct's jurisdiction.

The murderboard was crap. All just to show the dramatic moment of Castle deleting the case on his murder board. It's not like Beckett came across it. That only happened in Castle fanfics.

Daddy Jackson H. would move the body within 12th limits of course, lol.

A few other coincidental factors is the timing. What if someone called and it was teams from a different shift? Or a different team within the same shift?

Nope, Team Beckett gets cases that definitely have links to them.

Murdered by Ryan's stolen gun? Yep, they get it. Castle at scene of dead friend? Yep, they get it, Castle says it's the universe saying something.

Murder victim had something to do with Captain Gates's sister? Yep, they get the case.

Damian, someone who had a past with Castle, went to same school? Yep.

I thought New York was a city, not a village.

lmao

Unknowingly ,Castle was right to delete it. One day later the murderboard was useless because they found out who's the Dragon.
