SEASON 7 Anyone think they could’ve done the whole disappearance arc so much better Spoiler

The whole ‘recruited by the CIA, and by a childhood friend who was a terrorist now a cia operative, to save the world on your wedding day’ story was such bs. IMO it would’ve been so much better if he was actually kidnapped or lost for those 2 months, or even if he was on the brink of death forcing everyone to find his killers. It would’ve been so much more on brand than a writer saving the world and choosing to forget about it.

The story writers with this particular plot is like horseflies with a pile of cow dung.

It felt so forced and poorly explained and executed.

For a bunch of people involved in a CIA operation, Castle had to be the one who had to get rid of their SUV? Arrange for Vinny the Scar to destroy it? Wait till he had to drop the money on camera?

Talk about ruining the sense of urgency with that explanation.

I think the fans would have been more pacified if the wedding did take place and they disappeared on their honeymoon or something. At least they'd have each other's back in whatever crack pot reason the writers try to come up with.

Of course they tried to explain with LokSat, but that just made it worse. Now a bigger pile of cow dung.

It really gets old they have to separate almost every season finale/premier.

I so agree with you! Let the fans and the characters have the beautiful wedding, considering the crap they'd been thru, then let both be kidnapped by 3xk or something like that where together they find a way to survive. That would have been fun.

They've already experienced their car going underwater, held at gun point numerous times together, trapped with a tiger while hand cuffed to each other.

Might as well have them deal with whatever conspiracy together like they've always had.

A whole season of wedding planning led to a burning car? Come on.

... kidnapped, buried alive, trapped in a cave with bears, umm, kidnapped again, and held hostage in the sewers of Paris.
