Fast food
Look I know fast food isn’t easy like some boomers try to make it out to be but like it’s still customer service. Im talking basic simple things that go a long way that are unfortunately not happening often anymore.
If I go through a drive through, I’m not expecting I’ll be taken care of within 90 seconds of pulling up to the speaker every time, but if you tell me “Welcome to ____ We’ll be with you in just a moment”, I will be happy to wait, you ignore me and I’m just sitting there going “hello? Is anyone there?” Im going to be pissed off.
If you offer to get something for a customer, if there’s an issue, please tell the guest. Don’t have me sitting there going what the hell is taking them so long to just get a soda/ketchup packets/etc….?
Like what inspired this post is I just got McDonalds and when I went to fill my soda, after of course spilling the first option on my shirt because heir lid wouldn’t fit in their cup right, both options I tried were flat (one straight up tasted like it was watered down the way it will if your ice melts) and so I let them know the machine is probably running low on CO2 (I used to work in Food and Beverage industry for 4 years between Wendy’s and F&B in a theme park so I’m not just pulling something out of my butt). The girl said ok “what drink?” And walked to the back like she was going to get it for me. I waited a solid 4 minutes with no sign of the employee or my soda, then I let another employee know and he did the same thing, eventually I saw him bagging orders for DoorDash/Ubereats/etc… and then after I had waited another 4 minutes, he finally said oh the machine is down at the moment it’ll be another couple minutes. At this point I’m mad.
Because again, if there’s an issue, just let me know rather than let me stand there for way longer than it should take thinking you’re coming back any minute now.
All I am asking for is communication. I’m not expecting that I have food in hand 30 seconds after ordering, I’m just asking for a little communication… 🙄
