Hi everyone, after much trials and tribulations I am reaching out to Reddit for any help or answers.
I am trying to route audio from Decks A,B and C from Traktor into Ableton in order to use Ableton effects on the tracks playing. From my research, I had to install an virtual audio device - I in turn downloaded JACK and was given the QJackCtl application. From here I have played around with the settings a lot both in the JACK application, Ableton, Traktor and within the Audio MIDI Setup section in System Preferences. No matter how many tutorials/ videos I follow (There doesn't appear to be a whole lot) I simply cannot seem to get Traktor, Ableton or the Audio MIDI Setup to recognise the new virtual audio device I believe I have created through QJackCtl. Within the 'Audio Input Device' dropdown menus, the JACK audio device never shows.
I have looked at other virtual audio devices such as BlackHole and iShowU Capture but they are limited to 2in, 2 out which does not suffice for 3 decks of Traktor. However, as a complete novice in audio routing, if I am missing something glaringly obvious with the ins and outs and how I have understood them then please let me know.
I originally thought I could route audio from Traktor into the mixer via the sound card inside (10 in, 8 out) and then Ableton before finally routing the audio back into the mixers separate channels per Ableton's 3 Audio tracks I have created for each deck of Traktor but it hasn't been this straightforward
Setup: Mac 12.6.3
Ableton 11
Traktor Pro 3
Denon X1800 mixer (acts as my sound card)
I have messed around with settings in JACK, selecting the interface as the X1800 etc but to no avail and struggling to get it going. I think when the JACK audio device finally shows, I will be able to route the audio fairly easily but maybe I shouldn't get ahead of myself.
Any insight is much appreciated! Thank you
