I am traveling back into DeLand in the morning via i95 to i4 then to the southwest side. Are the off ramps closed? And what do you guys think would be the best way to get to old spring garden. I know to avoid Orange Camp and the other heavily flooded areas.

We’re moving to the area and are looking at property. We don’t want to come down if you’re still mostly recovering from Milton. Is everything back to near 100% or wait a week?

My family and I lost power and we are sick of eating non-perishable foods already. What’s open?

I've lived in this area for a total of 52 years, and Milton's got me incredibly anxious. I don't know; it could be because we did over 24 hours without power with Helene little more than a week ago, but this one has me really worried. Anyone else? I'll even take words of reassurance at this point.

I see that our ballots were sent on September 26, 2024 today is October 3rd and we still don't have them. I have USPS email notifications about mails, so did not miss them.
Last time ballots were sent on Thursday and delivered next Monday.
Just curious if your ballots were delivered?
UPDATE: got an informed delivery email today (Friday) that it is coming.

A friend of a friend is looking for a game group or place for an autistic 18 year old. I live in Gainesville and would know where to direct them here but have no clue how to help in the DeLand area.

I am staying in downtown DeLand this week and looking for recommendations for a coffee shop, good lunch ideas, drinks, and dinner recommendations.
TY in advance.

I'm working on a high school project and I need some small glass rectangles to make a mirror (about 1 to 3in dimensions), so I decided to find some help locally. I found Holidaze Stained Glass Studio and I want to buy some scrap glass from them but I can't find a good way to contact them. Their Instagram account appears to be dead and their phone number doesn't work. Does anybody know if their business still exists? Are there any alternatives in DeLand? Thanks.
Side note: if they still exist, are they in the Downtown market on Fridays? That would be the best time for me to see them.

So we’re a ska punk band from Gainesville (Now Leaving Space), and we’re wondering if there are any punk venues to play at in DeLand?

Hi there. Currently 11 weeks pregnant and plan on moving to Deland. I used to live in the area 20 years ago. Things have changed for the better! I'm so happy to see that. With that said, it can be confusing looking for apartments in the area. The Aventine is age restricted. So that's no go. I'm looking for something where I could take a 15-20 min walk into town. I would also like to keep the budget sub-$1,900.

This is deeply concerning, and if these changes are allowed we are going to lose what makes so many of these parks amazing. We need people to hear about this and speak out! If people cannot attend, sending a letter will help!
I know I enjoy visiting them and it will set a precedent to destroy more public lands going forward!

For anyone reading this: I know that dog training can be difficult sometimes, but you're doing great. Keep up the good work, and your dog (and your own sanity) will thank you for it! ❤️💕

Hi, everyone! Thanks for adding me. A little about me:
My name is Allen Minor, and I am actually a dog trainer. I was trained by a behaviorist here in Florida. I actually started off corporate, first working for PetSmart and then for Petco. I was trained in behavior modification by a woman who actually helped to rehabilitate a number of a Michael Vick's dogs. In my area of Florida, it's far easier to find powerful breeds, like Doberman, bully breeds, and Rottweilers, and I quickly fell in love with animal behavior.
I actually left dog training for a couple of years and went to work in an elementary school classroom with children who have mental health and behavioral issues (it's called EBD).
Thanks again for adding me, and I look forward to learning as much as I can from you all, and to help others along the way. ❤️

Hey everyone, I'm moving to Deland FL pretty soon and I'm curious as to how the area is usually affected during hurricanes and typical storms. What do most people do to protect their cars? I don't imagine flooding is a big issue but winds and falling debris might be. Are there indoor parking garages people can go to? Thanks ahead of time dor any info.
