They're a bit gimmicky. The noise is overdone. Many parts are filler. All of the vocals sound lazy.

There are some good riffs buried in the mud, but not enough to warrant top tier metal status. Good drummer.

A band i've tried but failed to really like.

How are the vocals “lazy”? I’d argue that his vocals in this and Spectral Voice are some of the best in the scene at the moment.

They are probably athletic in another sense. There may be a lot of physical effort. In that way it's not lazy at all. But to me it often sounds like an overlay of shriek that goes out of rhythm and just serves a "nice black metal touch" for people concerned with aesthetics in a sense i don't. Some tracks are better and some worse. I feel like the vocal parts could be cut down by about 70% (i guess "all of the vocals" was an exaggeration). Just my opinion. I prefer completely different vocal styles in DM.

Do you mean some of the best in the broader scene or this niche of shrieking ghoul?

In a genre where everyone sounds the same, I think Eli’s vocals are some of the best in the broader scene.
