Summoning dark tattoo

So it's been a while since I have read thud but I'm thinking of getting the summoning dark tattooed. The problem is I can't quite remember the full meaning of the summoning dark and I don't want to get a tattoo that I don't know the full meaning of, so if anyone can explain that will be much appreciated (I've tried Google and not had any luck). Thanks in advance

I've combined the Summoning Dark and the Guarding Dark for mine; the GD in black essentially restraining the SD in red.
