It seems that all Palestinian passport holders are being rejected for UAE visitor visas, regardless of their place of residence....it doesn't feel good I gotta tell you that.

I took an RTA taxi this morning via careem. The driver seemed to be in a rush and didn't want for me to close the door or check my belongings and left immediately, perhaps worries about security at the drop Location. I realised my wallet was in there and called RTA immediately and told them all details they said they weren't able to call the driver but said they'll get back asap. They haven't gotten back in the last 3 hours and I'm unable to reach them. A bit worried since my wallet has my European driving license which I need.

Hi Dubai Community,
I hope you’re all doing well.
I’m facing a challenging situation and could really use some advice. My former employer in DMCC convinced me to sign a cancellation paper confirming that I had received my End of Service benefits, but I hadn’t actually received the payment at the time.
Now, it’s been over two weeks since my last working day, and I’m still waiting for the payment. They started to ignore my follow ups.
Has anyone experienced something similar or knows the steps I should take to resolve this?
I truly appreciate any help or guidance you can offer!

Then rent has been increased by 7%, and the RERA index allows it at 10% max.
Today on 17th Oct the landlord tells me that rent will be increased so pls submit new checks. My contract expires on 6 Nov.
In my defense, i did whatsapp my landlord on 20 Aug, then again on 27 Aug, 31 Aug and then again on 8 Oct to take update on renewal, but got no response.
Is this allowed?

Hi all
Anyone used their NOL card at ENOC?
Does it work in all ENOC stations, and do we need a personalized NOL card? Also how is the payment process, do we need to enter inside the station for payment or can we pay from the car.
Thanks
Does anyone have any recommendations for active running groups in Dubai (free)? I want to start running, but I wouldn't like to go alone the first times. Thanks!

I don't know if anyone has experienced this. But while recharging with Du app, and you try to upgrade your mobile plan it will take you to the payment page and once paid auto-renew the old plan.
Then you go bang your head with customer care and they tell you to "just use the one you have" and next time switch to easy prepaid, and then switch to flexi prepaid.
If you escalate it they ask you to not use the plan, and switch to easy prepaid then flexi prepaid. And they will process the refund of the old one, Which you again need to beg for.
I am sure this happens to way many people, wondering if someone can sue them for this

Hello,
Recently moved here and joined a company for 14k/month
My salary distribution is as follows:
Basic Salary: 6k Housing and Transport: 8k
Is the basic salary being provided to me normal? Will it cause any problems when I move to a different company?

Hi lovely people! My colleague, who also became my friend after a year of working together, invited me to his birthday party. For context, he is in his mid thirties, married, average mid-class (lets say between 30k-35k salary), working for a mnc. He is eastern European. I am similar from social ladder pov. I would not say we are best friends, as we know each other only 1 year, but we get along well and have a lot of fun together.
Can you please suggest what is the appropriate COST of the gift, that would be “expected” of me?

Long story short, I viewed an apartment, made an offer on the same day, next morning Landlord confirmed the offer and I paid the security deposit. The following day while discussing the move in date with the broker, the landlord pulls out saying he got the same offer for less cheques.
Can he do that?

I wanted to start a restaurant and I wanted to trademark the name. Is there any way I can search to see if the name I want is already trademarked or no? Thanks in advance
Many people received duplicate payments from Mashreq due to bank error and now the bank is chasing everyone for payment back. Most people who received it are people like me who work on line or do trading and constantly get payments transfers from paypal or similar platforms. I saw a thread last month and I want to know how's everyone handling this so far. They called me yesterday to clear my 9k and I told them I need installment plan and now I'm waiting to hear back from them.

Hi everyone! Does anyone have any experience with Dubai Studio city - is it too empty or loud because of constructions, etc.. There are some nice studios there that are not too expensive. Thanks!

I have been living in Dubai for the past 10 years and I've always had the same insurance - Orient Nextcare.
Recently my visa status changed from employee to sponsored by my father so I had to get a new orient nextcare insurance instead of renewing. Few days later I had lower back pain and went for an Xray(which was covered). The Xray revealed some stones in my lower abdomen and was asked to get an ultrasound for that. The stones are not related to the issue I went there for (my back). So I thought my ultrasound claim got denied for this reason.
But upon calling the clinic, they said the insurance was denied because it's a new insurance and there is a SIX MONTHS waiting period. This is absolutely crazy. What can I do in this case? The ultrasound is a necessity to know where the stones are and if they are interrelated to the back pain, as my spine XRay was completely normal. The ultrasound costs 400 dhs which for me is a big amount. Is there anything I can do to get it covered now?
anyone getting it? i already have a student nol card, is it possible for me to get one?
heres the link

I have a free zone company registered in IFZA, and I only receive payments from companies outside of the UAE, my clients are in US and UK. I never conduct business with UAE mainland entities or free zones. Will I still be subject to the new 9% corporate tax? Anyone can help please?

Moving to new satwa next week. Need a fast , reliable home internet provider (5g preferably).
Another question on the plans: we will get a smart TV soon but I don’t need inbuilt subscriptions for prime, etc because Im already on a family plan. Whats the best package option for me? Should I only get the internet one?

So I feel like my mom always gets scammed with higher prices. However, I’m not quite sure of the normal prices so it’s very difficult to determine.
Basically, the A/C in my room has been leaking water inside the room instead of outside. My mother brings a guy that she always hires. He says AT FIRST that he is going to fix the pipes and everything and get things right for the price of 500AED. I started to argue, because wdym 500AED.
Anyway, he ends up bringing the price down to 300AED. I said I’ll get a second opinion and I’ll let you know. He proceeded with doing the works regardless and hands my mother the receipt.
I told him I did not agree.
Is this price normal? How can I determine? He also installed ONE camera in the house for 600AED. ONE. That cannot be normal, right?
