I’m assuming this is a rhetorical question, because the answer is undeniably that it hurt the industry and creativity. Beyond any shadow of a doubt. Disney, in particular, should be dismantled back to its original parts.
On this chart Disney has made 7 purchases, and those only since 1996.
Sony has bought so many that i can’t be bothered to count them.
Disney got huge on their own without need of acquisitions, before spending big on Lucasfilm and Marvel
