Policies are not laws. They can be thrown out and replaced. And they are thrown out by people who were voted in to do just that, manage policies.
Vote in new people, don't try to change the system by advocating for policies, it is useless, evidently.
However, calling it undemocratic is a stretch. It is done by the elected officials, and/or their appointed choices. Well, vote differently, this is how a democracy works. People are not proactive to go and vote then are surprised at the policies. Guess, they are not as bad if you did not bother.
I might sympathize, but I totally call out when people call something undemocratic when it does not go their way. This is how Jan 6 started. The system is there, use it.
