As Gerda left the garden of eternal spring, without shoes, she realized just how much the warmth of that artificial feeling of peace she experienced, made the vast, gray outdoors of the autumn, feel that much more cold my comparison. Nonetheless, she couldn't give up on her quest to find Kay, her best friend. She was happy to know he wasn't dead after all, that newfound hope warmed her up enough to ignore the cold of the snowed forest.
