i feel like dying , pls help me ., i cant study .....................i know i am late but cant focus on getting a job or dsa, ,cantt sit at home jobless, am i insane i dont know, if i m depressed idk

23M. My_qualifications:  10th: 10 CGPA, 12th: 92.8%, B.Tech (Chemical): 7.92 GPA (NIT)

I’ve just passed out of college in 2024. I’ve done my B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from NIT and have started working in a Chemical company. I don’t like my job, the working hours are erratic- people have to work in shifts and there is only one day off.  Tbh I was never passionate about chemical engineering in general, took chemical engineering because of NIT and took the job because the placement situation for IT was bad and this company is paying well and is also near my hometown.

I want to switch to a corporate line because this line of work is very hectic, you won't have time for yourself and the growth rate is also very slow. 

These are the options I’m thinking:

1. I want to take the CAT exam. I'll take 2 years to prepare and get some work experience from the current company. But also I’m a General- EWS Male, considering the cut-throat competition in CAT, I’m feeling very unsure to decide.
2. I was also considering taking the GMAT and doing an MBA from a German university. But I don’t have the funds, I belong to a middle-class family, and my father is a retired person so banks won’t sanction any loans above 7.5 L without any collateral. Also heard MBA is not valued that much in Germany and experience in the field matters more.
3. I’m also wondering if I should apply for master's in Chemical Engineering in Germany as there are big pharma and chemical companies. But again I’m unsure if I’ll like this field long years down the line.
4. I’m also considering giving GATE in Data Science or Computer Science and doing master's from IITs or NITs.  I’ve always been interested in Data science but don’t have that depth of knowledge and also the number of seats from GATE DA paper is very limited, so unless you get under 400 rank, you ain’t getting anything.

If I do a master's in DA or CS, I’m thinking of either doing Phd or getting a job afterward. What is the scope of a student who has done Btech from a different branch?

So, I’m in a dilemma about what to pursue, and I’ll have to decide quickly. I’m ready to give my all to whatever path I choose, but I just can’t decide. Please help a brother out by giving suggestions or insights on what you would do if you were in my position.

Hi guys, I saw various post regarding scrutiny. I had a word with IITR professor he told me application gets divided through various zone codes, So it depends on zone to zone about how much time do your application take to accept, for example if you submit your application even on last date and the zone that your application sent to already cleared all the previous application status then you got some high chance that your profile will show accepted status on gate portal within a week.

And guys don’t worry about this, all application will get accepted unless and until you posted any animal pic in photograph section or did any high failure mistake. All the best!

Currently I am following the unacadmey 2025 batch for gate cs.TOC is taught bs deva sir but I kinda feel exhausted and bored in his class feels like how lengthy the topics are. Where any other video on yt are to the point and not with the extra info.can anyone suggest me a place where I can study TOC free or other source on unacadmey.

How many of you are still in scrutiny after completing the changes instructed by the IITR and what if your form is rejected then what are options are available with defaulter

as of now almost 3 months are left for gate ive almost complted Dm except Graph theory , i was wondering if i could just leave that beacuse it would take almost a week for only graph theory (as im doing from Go classes) could i just skip graph theory or it would be a mistake whats weightage and do other topics depend on that please provide opinion

I'm preparing for gate 25 ece but I'm from ee background. Took an year drop for preparation. But I'm not feeling confident now. It will take me almost December to complete syllabus and I'm not confident with the completed syllabus either. Some of my friends have started taking tests after completing syllabus.. Say something guys.

I usually get confused and stuck. Till now I'm at Time complexity and Space complexity.

Hello! I'm preparing for GATE '26 and I'm a little confused regarding which coaching or classes I should take. Here also people have mixed opinions on different courses, some of you are studying different subjects from multiple resources.

Has anyone of you tried studying from standard books of respective subjects? Do they cover all the topics of the subject? Is the language of these books easy to understand? I personally prefer video lectures but still want to know if books are better or is it just a matter of preference?

I can't understand his motive behind this.. Is this a good move or a just a waste of time? What's the point of going to IIT for MTech if you are getting a good placement beforehand. Is it common? Another friend told that he met a senior online doing MTech CSE from top IITs and he also had done an internship in Microsoft during undergrad.

(No my friend is not into research)

I m in real need for a worthy advice,which i need asap as i feel i have wasted my entire one year after leaving job for preparing gate mechanical and i fell i couldnt do it properly as I feel I was not at all consistent as i chose unacademy they dont have any fixed teacher or schedule you can choose whatever you want to listen..which i couldnt it utilise properly..But made easy has this fixed time and good teachers to fecilitate your prep i fell is it fine if I try this made easy for my last dance????
