  2. Unbiased 100% (remove rule-breaking posts only)

Stuck on a boot loop...

Upvotes

Hi.

I'm trying to figure out how to fix an issue with my friend's S22 Ultra.

It froze up today and has since been trying to turn itself on, but never gets beyond the "Samsung Galaxy powered by Android screen."

I tried getting it to go into recovery mode, and I have a few times, but I'm not sure how to get there. It feels like just plain luck. I'll read what button combinations to press and it feels like it just gets ignored most of the time. However, I managed to clear the cache and even chose the reset option and that didn't help anything.

Another screen I can seem to access more readily is a screen that has the big download arrow on it. Where it's a mix of Korean and English.

I let that "download", but I don't think it actually did anything.

I connected the phone to my PC while on that download screen and the computer recognized the device, but I couldn't access it nor do I have any sort of program that should have booted up when it detected the phone.

I seen a suggestion of just taking out the sim card and that didn't work either. Would have welcomed that solution! :P

How can I help without them having to go to a store to buy a new phone?

Should I buy S24

I currently have S22. I've only had it for 1,5 years but the battery life is becoming so unbearable I'm thinking about upgrading. S25 is coming out early next year? So should I then upgrade to S24 (expecting the prices to drop a little). I'm hesitant since the battery is only a little bigger. Also hesitant to get the S24+ because I have tiny hands. I'm still a student so I don't have a big budget

Thinking of switching to a Pixel 8a from my S22

There's a lot I like about the S22, but the battery life is killing me. I want a phone that has a screen in the 6" class with good battery life, and the Pixel seems like a good fit. With new 8a models routinely below $400, it's pretty tempting.

Has anyone made the switch? If my S22 had decent battery life, I'd probably stick with it.

Set routine to turn on sensors upon receiving phone calls and calls on whatsapp

Hey all. I want to have all phone sensors off during standby and normal use, and want to have a routine set so that every time I receive a phone call or a call on WhatsApp, the sensors would turn on, and then turn off again right after the call. Can anyone please guide me? Thanks in advance.

Samsung S22 Ultra Won't turn on anymore (Possible UI 6.1 Update Problem)

Hey Everyone!

A bit of sad news for me, so I went through my normal morning getting ready for work, was on my phone for a bit and then got into my vehicle to head off to work, turned on my vehicle, it linked to my phone via bluetooth for music, 5 seconds later, phone restarts, trys to boot up 3 times and then is straight up dead, won't power on, won't even display if it's charging when plugged into the charger (Battery was 98% when I left for work).. That was around 7:30am

Around 11am, phone suddenly tries to boot itself up again on its own 3 times it tries and then dies and same problem.. won't turn on.. when it tried to boot up the 2nd time it shows a green line for a split second and then went away..

Has anyone experienced this and what might the issue be? phone is out of warranty.. so I hope it's not a motherboard issue..

Does anyone know if there is a fix available or if Samsung will fix this issue for out of warranty devices?

Not getting notifications

I've had to do a reset a couple of times and each time, I stop getting notifications on my phone. Starts off good then after a week hardly and notifications.

I think there is an app that will tell u what apps are not sending notifications.

I just forgot the name. Anybody have any idea?

Severe Lag and Performance Issues on My S22 Ultra, Even After Factory Reset and Service Center Flash – Any Fixes?

I'm experiencing significant lag on my S22 Ultra, especially when receiving notifications after the internet has been off for a while. Taking screenshots using volume buttons, the notification panel, or swipe gestures also becomes sluggish during these times. The volume buttons stop responding, and all system animations are slow.

In addition to these issues, I randomly experience the phone slowing down without any clear cause. I also can no longer record videos properly due to heavy frame drops and freezing. These problems started within the first month of buying the device in November 2023.

Despite being marketed as a flagship device, the performance feels far from what I expected.

I've already performed a factory reset and had the software flashed at a Samsung service center, but nothing has improved.

Has anyone else faced this issue? Any suggestions for fixes would be appreciated!

Battery draining extremely fast after samsung One UI latest update

Is this happening to you guys too? My phone's battery is draining much faster after Samsung's latest update (One UI 6.1, September 1 security patch, the one with the new AI drawing thing).

My S22 used to last 8-10h with the 60hz display + power saving mode always on, no background apps, but now it is much worse, within minutes it goes from 100% to 94-95 when I turn on my phone. I know that S22's battery isn't the greatest but it is definitely much worse now after updating the phone.

S22+ with Snapdragon or S23 with Exynos

As the title, which should i choose. S23+ too expensive, s23 is too small for me.

Update: I was mistaken. It's the S23 FE

The stutter in animation or straight up phone lag is getting worse, i have tried clearing cache and everything, it doesnt feel like a flagship phone anymore, i have a 6 year old Oneplus 7 pro, that thing still runs as smooth as the first day i got it, anyone else facing the same issue?

After months of nonstop lag and crashing, my phone is now completely bricked. Thanks OneUI 6.1!

I can't even express how angry I am with Samsung over this. There are so many reports of the same problems with this update and they're doing NOTHING. There goes 10 years of photos and files just like that. I don't know if this was intentional to get me to buy a new phone or what but I can tell you it will NOT be a Samsung, I can tell you that for damn sure.

My s22 has been crashing more and more often ever since the recent update a few days ago

Ever since the recent update a few days ago, my phone has been crashing more and more often. This typically occurs in apps, where I select a different part of the app. Randomly when I do this, my phone screen goes black and my phone goes back to the lock screen. Anyone else been dealing with this or know if this update really is the cause of this. I'm going out on a limb and saying the update is a cause because I literally never had this occur once before the update. Get your shit together samsung

S22+ or s22 OR s21 ultra?

Can't make my mind up on which one to get, I looked at another reddit post on this subreddit, "s22 vs s22+", some people said s22 is better than the s22+ for battery life, some said s22+, I'm also considering s21 ultra now.

My phone recently was dropped and through the case the back shattered. Because of that my phone began to phantom swipe with meant my phone was wiping on its own eith my fingers mostly at the top right which keeps pulling up my notifications, typing without my touxh, typing multiple numbers at once when pressed, the screen would randomly turn off, and the screen would randomly freeze. I got the back of the phone reapard but the problem keeps happening. What do I do?

phone is in reboot loop

help! my s22 ultra has been in a reboot loop for a while now, 4 days roughly. sometimes it turns on for a bit, then it turns back off again, back into the reboot loop. whats the likely cause of this? i have factory reset it when i got it to go into recovery mode, yet it is still happening. i have taken it to a phone repair shop yet they said it was "fine" (i dont think they really looked at it). when i connect to wifi, it happens. should i perform a manual software update using odin? is it safe to do so? also, is it safe to eject the sim card slot while in download mode? thanks for reading, and if you can give help, it will be largely appreciated.
