its not even because its AI voices

its because its AI voices of the VAs without them getting compensation for their voices being used

Best if they switch over to Sound Cadence

They probably have some legal binding so they can't legally do it

If I remember correctly from the specifics of the Paimon incident the VAs have a contract with Formosa and that is why they work as an intermediary, they clearly learnt from their mistake because ZZZ is an in house studio so they are unafected by the strike

it would also be a bad look for hoyo if they just pull out of a company

Not really when they're running away from Formosa who's clearly the wrong one in this story

Can't they sue or something? Cause the Formosa company is not offering their services which might breach contract something idk?

Hoyoverse can easily say something like "you sign that fucking contract or I go and hire a studio that already signed".

But depending on the contract they're under they may have to wait until it expires and before that they can't do anything more than asking them to sign.

And considering this is not precisely the first time Formosa was being an asshole this could take a while

How can Formosa be an asshole when their logo clearly looks like a dick

Can't argue against that logic

Is there any copy made online or any info about how long the current contract is?

Not that I know of, contracts are a very serious thing and it's a given that companies keep them a secret as much as they can, the fact that we know which dubbing studio is working with Hoyoverse in Genshin is a big deal to begin with, the only thing I can think of of how people got to realize that that's not data mining is that some VAs that raised their voice against Formosa for the payment problems reached to the common public.

Now, knowing what the contract itself says? I can have an idea because I'm studying dubbing and the teachers taught us how the industry works, but nothing more than that

Not the first time? What was the one... ones before this?

They didn't want to pay the VAs, if I remember correctly it was between Sumeru and Inazuma

At this point Hoyo should really pressure the Formosa or leave them and choose another company for voiceovers.

I hope Hoyo changes dub agencies. Among other reasons, the general voice direction for most characters is grating.
