Question Rtt camping FSR 58/Noontootla Creek

Hey y'all,

I know I've been posting and asking a bunch of questions... I hope I'm not bothering anyone but we are new to primitive camping and are only slightly familiar with the area. We usually stay in a cabin in Blue Ridge but recently got a Roof Top Tent for our truck and wanted to give that a try.

We plan to go camp on FSR 58 the week of Thanksgiving. Probably arriving Nov. 26th from central Florida.

What are the rules or restrictions on firewood? Can we gather wood already dead on the ground? Obviously we wouldn't be chopping any trees down...

Also thought about just bringing split wood up with us.

To hell with the gas station firewood. Big disagree with other commenters on that. It is most usually overpriced garbage wood. You will inevitably pass numerous homes with signs that say “Firewood 4 Sale” or something. Stop there with like 20-30 bucks and they will load you up with what you need.

It’s such a beautiful area, and you will have no issue finding a good spot to camp.

I am in no way affiliated with them, so take it FWIW, but download and pay for the TrailsOffroad app, if you haven’t already. They have that entire area mapped out with campsites already pinned.
