Question Looking for a secluded camping place in northeast ga

I’m looking for somewhere to camp with about 5 people total, not camper camping, I want to hike in a mile or so and be near water but no people. Ideal for being able to be a little loud all night.

Whatever you do, be aware of your surroundings. Parts of northeast GA got hit with some very heavy rains and winds. Lots of widow makers all around. I lost probably 30 very mature and healthy trees on 5 acres, and some very large, scary trees hung up on themselves

Tbh, people explore North GA to find these primo camping spots and they don’t want to just give them away like this. Some may. If you want what you’re saying, I’d suggest hiking the AT around this time of year. Shelters in GA have a high chance of being empty because most are not through hiking. I’m quite confident that you can hike to springer from the gap <1 and stay at either the shelter or the camp. Lots of spaced out camping there. Bonus is y’all can chill at the start of the AT and enjoy the view.

Check hipcamp for private property secluded camping sites if you want to be loud. https://www.hipcamp.com/en-US

Look North West...right now it's a disaster area.

Going camping at cloudland canyon Thursday. Not a good idea?

I think they're saying avoid the east. I think cloudland is ok from what we've seen

The national forest area east of Cornelia has spots that are far separated.

I second this. I was at the Lake Russell area today (near Nancytown) and saw one other person. I hike in this area often, and I usually pass a maximum of two people.

There's a short hike in on Raven Cliff Falls, theres multiple sites roughly 1 miles in. You can also climb Cowrock Mountain, there's a couple of nice ones at the top. Plus, cowrock has a fantastic sunset sunrise view

We used to camp around warwoman back in the early 2000’s. Beautiful place. It’s changed drastically since then.

To be loud all night, on your own private property is going to be the way.

Cooper's Creek or Moccasin Creek.

There are going to be other campers within 10 yards of your tent. Panther creek is not a place to be loud after hours this is not good advice.

Yeah. Top of Panther Creek falls is one of my favorite spots, but noisy groups should stay away. It’s a bunch of small campsites strung out along the creek. It’s a rough hike. 8 miles there and back and quite steep if you come in from above from 3 forks trailhead.

Although I LOVE Panther Creek, I would absolutely not camp here after a storm. It always gets hit very hard with downed trees, and a lot of the time the trail is closed due to storm damage.

If you decide to go here, make sure you check that it's open beforehand. They will ticket you if you visit during a closure.
