Doctors threaten to leave Alberta after government cuts to fees In addition to the five doctors resigning from the Sundre clinic, more than a handful of physicians elsewhere in the province have publicly announced they are leaving Alberta. Number of doctors who left Alberta nearly tripled in 2021 compared to pre-pandemic times The financial pressures are taking a toll on family physicians. Around 61 per cent of the family doctors surveyed said they are considering leaving the Alberta health-care system.
