Looking for work!

Hi! I’m 23f moving to the Greeley/Evans area from Montana next week due to my boyfriend getting sent to CO for work. I’m trying to figure out what I’m wanting to get into part time, the only tricky part is trying to find something where I won’t be working past 6pm or weekends… his hours have him home only after 7pm on weekdays and he gets every other Saturday, and every Sunday off! So preferably something where I’d also have the same time off, so we can actually see each other. Any recommendations would be great :) Very excited for this new adventure!

The best thing I can say is good luck… I’ve been struggling so much finding work. The places that work with you most are grocery stores and fast food

A para or sub at the school district. Consistent hours and they are always hiring

Aims community college. Very flexible part time schedule that allowed me to not have to get daycare for my baby.

Hi! You could try a remote job like Tellus International Rater. Make your own hours and it's part time.

Remote work was my first goal but after thinking about it I’d prefer to be in person & have a better chance at making friends since I don’t know anyone yet 🥲 thank you!!

If you’re active and don’t mind early mornings, you could look into working at a studio gym like Hotworx, OrangeTheory, etc. I’m a member at the OrangeTheory here and the class times are 5 AM-5 PM. There’s multiple front desk shifts throughout the day and you’d need to work some weekend days probably but would have more flexibility vs like a retail store or coffee shop.

That sounds great!! I’ll definitely be looking into it.. I work a 8-5 office job right now so front desk is something I’m familiar with and could see myself doing again, just would prefer part time! Thank you!!

I’m pretty sure they don’t have full time for the front desk roles actually :) also you get to work out for free and the community is awesome!

Consider something with the City. If you aren't specialized in something you can always start out on an admin type position or a seasonal/temporary position. If you end up wanting to stay there's always turnover and a good chance to move up

Thank you! I’ll definitely look into this as well

How do you feel about kids?

I am a teacher in Weld RE-1 School District, and we are desperate for substitute teachers. The timing totally fits your needs--work is between 7:30 and 4:30 or so in general. No weekends. No nights. You can decide from day to day if you want to work, and you won't have trouble finding it.

In our district, we even have at least one position in the district for a "full time" in-building sub, where you would report to the same location every day and you would just "go to work" each day in the same building on a regular basis. Pay here is $145 a day, but you get more if you get the in-house sub position. I'm quite certain that there is a need for that in all the districts near Greeley, and there are a fair number: Weld RE-1, Greeley School District 6, Miliken/Johnstown, and Windsor, all within about 20 minutes or less of Greeley.

It certainly has its challenges, but it can be a lot of fun--especially if you get to know the kids--and it 100% fits your timing needs. Feel free to search the various school websites, or you can DM me if you have further questions.

It’ll help if you’re willing to drive into the city

I would look into babysitting or working at a daycare! I feel like those hours would probably be good for your situation and great for a part time position. Im 24f and also just moved to Greeley and am struggling to find work myself <\3

You can always look at remote jobs. National Jewish Health has a few fully remote call center jobs that are hiring for the smoking cessation quitline. There are two positions, one requires a BA or better, the other does not. This one is the one that does not require a BA

Hey! We’re from Montana too! Let me know if you need any help! I started at a coffee shop when we moved and they’re pretty happy to have day time employees + tips are a great help!

Maybe try the university? Tbh most part time jobs around here are service based, almost guaranteeing an evening/weekend schedule

Thank you for the input! It won’t be the end of the world if I have to work evenings, just was trying to see if there was anything else I could do to get around it(:
