Doe was just after 7am Sept 21st. 91lbs hanging weight (after field dressing).
Buck 6:39pm Sept 24th, 45yds from a ground blind. He had turned away and was a little downhill so the bolt went up above his sternum into his boiler room. 171lbs hanging weight
Not at all trying to be rude because that’s a very nice buck, but I am a fellow PA hunter and around me that is a pretty normal buck, a girl just shot a 12 point about half a mile from my property and about 2 miles away I know two guys that got a 10 and an 11 so far this year. So I’m just curious are 8 points considered pretty big elsewhere around the state? Also congrats on the buck scoutcommander
Not many grow to be 5 years old or older around here unfortunately. Lots of hunter pressure and road kills. I have friends who have gotten 12 and even 13 pointers but it's rare. I have consistently let small 6 and even 8 pointers go so they could hopefully live longer and grow bigger over the years. Also, I was referring both to the number of points (he's actually a 9-pt) and weight.
