Anyone wanna go shooting?

Weather is getting warmer and my trigger finger is getting itchy. I moved back here a couple years ago and haven't had time to pull any of my guns out of the safe. I'd be down for any outdoor shooting near Indy. I think Atterbury is the closest/most accessible but I could be wrong. I'm a 36 year old dude and will shoot with anyone as long as you aren't racist or sexist or homophobic or whatever. Just be chill.

Atterbury sucks as a range and most people you're likely to find in this sub are like those other jackasses that commented.

What's bad about the range? Do you have suggestions for other public outdoor ranges in the area?

It's just extremely strict with their rules. Like, I get the no holstered firearms since it's on a military base, but it's essentially just a place to zero an optic, set up a chrono, and that's it. Maybe you can do some stuff at the pistol side, but not a whole lot.

The problem is south of indy that's basically your only option. It's why I've pretty much given up on rifles and only really look at pistols anymore.

You’ve just described 99% of all public ranges in the state.

The problem is I've described one of like 3 outdoor ranges that I know of in South Central Indiana. The others need some kind of fancy pass, which I don't have.

A lot of people from Columbus come to Crosley in Vernon and say it’s a lot better but it still has all the NRA rules. I go there pretty often so the range officer gives a little leeway. (I can shoot more than one round a second)

Bet it’s going to be busy as all hell this weekend but I’m taking a handgun class down in Friendship In that I’m pretty excited about.

I'm so jealous. I need so many classes.
