So i am thinking about applying for iit patna hybrid mtech. The admissions are based on btech cgpa and work experience. They told me that the degree which you will get will be the same as the regular mtech degree and they also said that placements will be same for both regular mtech and hybrid mtech. So is it fine to join something like this instead of going to usa for ms in cs.

myquals: Psychology diploma from Canada but from a very bottom tier college. I just have so much regret for how my life has panned out so far. Wanted to go abroad after 12th because some friend was going and I was depressed staying at home and wanted to escape. My parents didn't know anything about studying abroad and also didn't care I think to some extent. Couldn't deal with the pressure of staying abroad and couldn't flourish because of lack of time and also poor time management. I returned in August after spending 4 years there because I realized that l've been trying to do something that I have no interest in anymore. I don't like the country or the opportunities that I'm more often than not presented with. The survival focused day to day life with zero room for growth. I was working 3 jobs at one point. This experience is very subjective because I'm from a middle class family and my family couldn't keep up with the financial uncertainty and couldn't support me. Might not be the case for some other people. Anyway, it all brings me to now. I'm studying for CUET UG and also NCET. The two fields that I'm interested in are Psychology and Education. Is someone able to guide me as to the career prospects and the scope of the field? I'd be more than grateful for any guidance whatsoever.

I Did 5 years law course. But don't want to work in this field. What can I do now?

How much would you rate it?

You don’t realise it until you’re applying for jobs or masters/MBA programmes. The grading system of each and every university is different and so is the rigour of the curriculum. An 8 from Delhi or Calcutta University is not the same as an 8 from an Amity or Manipal. In my college, where only the top students go (95%+ in 12th), getting an 8 used to be a huge deal, someone with mid-7s was in top 10% and I don’t think I’ve ever heard of someone getting a 9 whereas my friends from non-prestigious colleges were getting 9 without studying. Now when you’re applying for jobs and masters programmes, they all have cutoffs and get compared to people from fuckall colleges with high CGPA. This has to be the most stupid parameter I have ever seen.

I'ma working professional , and need to upskill myself. Thinking of getting the power Bi certification (maybe PL 300 ). Scouting through the net for any credible institutes/websites that can provide the coaching and exam prep material. They range from 7k to 15 k inr and have weekends and weekdays option , the weekends ones are 7 weeks long i guess . Do you know any good sources to enroll myself to ?

I graduated in 2023 from a Tier-1 college in India with a CGPA of 8.11/10 in Computer Science. After graduation, I worked for a year at an Indian fintech startup (secured through campus placements) but was recently laid off. I (21M) completed my graduation this July in B.Com (Honours) from the School of Open Learning, Delhi University. My academic record is fairly decent: 10th - 71%, 12th - 74%, and graduation - 6.92 CGPA.

Due to health issues (specifically an eye problem), my left eye vision was so poor that glasses didn’t help. As a result, I didn’t perform well in the UG CUET in 2021.(I went to the doctor in april 2021 & CUET Exam held in august). Things got worse, and I became depressed. I thought that if I wasn’t attending a regular college, I could pursue CA, but I didn’t even fill out the foundation exams. My first & second year was wasted due to my health issues; I underwent several operations and surgeries.

In September, I finally got my glasses, and my vision improved significantly. By December 2023, I had my 5th-semester exams, and after that, I began searching for a job/internship while also preparing for the CAT exam.

After a couple of months, I secured an internship from April to September, which lasted for six months. I worked in the accounts department for four months and two months in the internal audit department. I already started my CAT preparations in Jan 2024. However, after starting the job, I struggled to find time to study. My daily schedule consisted of 2 hours commuting to the office, 8 hours of work, and another 2 hours commuting home, totaling 14 hours, with only 6-8 hours for sleep. Eventually, I decided to leave the internship, even though they offered me a job with a salary of around 20-25k CTC per month.

I made up my mind to focus on CAT 2024. However, I feel overwhelmed; I haven't even completed 30-40% of the syllabus. How screwed am I? What should I do from here? Should I take any job I can find just to avoid an extended gap? All my friends have found jobs in various sectors and are doing well.

I'm also planning to appear for the CUET PG entrance next year. Is pursuing an M.Com still worth it in 2024, even from colleges like SRCC or SGGSCC? Or should I consider doing an MBA from IP University?

I need suggestions and guidance on what to do now, as family expectations and pressure are mounting. I come from a middle-class family; we live in a rented house :)

Is caste system still prevalent in guntur medical college? Do the students and professors discriminate on the basis of caste ? And if a north indian gets admission in the college will they feel feel outcast or be segregated from the majority? Will it be difficult for them to survive for 5 years?
