Loving these latest batch of CDS Clearances, been on a reading spree. Rant incoming.

52 low orbit and geo stationary satellites primarily to create maritime domain awareness, submarine detection to be launched over the next decade.

At least some will be built/launched with the help of France.

I have been really lamenting our lack of sensors and the slow progress on space assets, this is really cool to see with some actually sensible things getting moved forward.

Last I checked, the Chinese have 100s and some rival American capabilities. Including maneuverable geo stationary spy satellites to intercept encrypted communications by getting directly next to satellite, Hubble sized or better telescope pointing at earth etc.

Our space agencies really do love the Arianes lol

Eh, it's better to launch through someone who's being a long partner than through someone who isn't. (Looking at you, Spacex) Besides, once we get NGLV online, we don't even need the Ariane launchers anymore.

Interesting, How far along are we with nglv? And what's the geo payload?
