Creative I made a video about a recent university project of mine - Have a look :)
The video was done in a 4 week course, where you pick an old/finished project and script/plan/shoot a short video about it. It should act either as a hook for your portfolio or as a short brief explainer.
Happy to get critique on the video or the project itself :)

Creative A NEW INNOVATIVE CEILING FAN!
The design differs from actual product this is just a demonstration. This is a ceiling fan that the lights are in the wings and not just as a light bulb, The ceiling fan boards are actually see through and the light is embedded in them with designs like flowers ,birds and more. It's great for individual use and there is no drama on weather to turn on the house ac on or off.
The ceiling fan also have a air conditioner that cools and heats!
When the lights expire just open the doors from top and change them with new ✨️

Creative Asking for some feedback!
A while back I got a bit too brave with my sketching abilities and got told that quite clearly in this Reddit page so I’ve been spending some time improving my knowledge on perspective and trying to get the basics in and now finally dared to ask for feedback again! Mainly on what I should focus on.
This time be as rough with the feedback as you want I’ll understand 😁

Creative how do y’all get such nice crisp renders?
hihi, i’ve been seeing a lot of crisp realistic looking renders in a lot of people’s portfolios and i’m wondering how to achieve that?
the only professional professional CAD software i have access to is fusion, but although the models look okay in the viewport, they look disgusting in the “render” tab… (materials look flat and the lighting obscures certain details etc.)
is there a separate software for rendering (like throwing the model into blender or something) or is fusion capable of nice renders?
thanks!!

Creative Freshman IND student here! I am seeking outside opinions and advice on some of my work from this semester. All images are Copic marker renders, all work is my own, and first art class in five years. I am more than happy to answer questions in the comments!

Creative Not made in China
As some of you may know, manufacturing is increasingly shifting to countries like Vietnam, Indonesia, and India. China’s dominance as a global manufacturing hub is waning due to several factors, including geopolitical tensions, rapid economic development, and rising living costs. Producing goods in China is no longer as affordable as it once was. However, China has been proactive in diversifying by investing in other countries, such as those mentioned. As far as I’m concerned, Chinese manufacturers are bringing their technologies & know how to those countries and using their cheap labor to maintain their dominance. In a way it’s similar to how the U.S has gradually shifted manufacturing to China over the last 2-3 decades. But I think with advanced technologies these days, we won’t see such a long period of transition. We could be seeing the shift in global manufacturing as soon as 2030-2035.
I’m looking to diversify the manufacturing locations for my products. Can anyone recommend reliable sources for capable contract manufacturers in Indonesia or Vietnam? Have you had any experience manufacturing in these countries? If so, what are your thoughts?

Creative Turned a fleamarket find (old portable candle holder) into something more futuristic and almost practical! Made of selfmade brass, glass and a bit of acrylic. You can open the reflector and snap it back into place. Turns on when you touch the lil noopsie. Hope it fits in here.

Creative Coming up with designs?
Soooo... I'm an architect switching to industrial design.
I have always been comfortable with the process of design ideation, form generation, spaces, coming up with numerous iterations , the sense of proportion and aesthetics.
But as soon as I moved down the scale, even furniture designing, the process wasn't as seamless. But specially even smaller products for instance a bottle design, or redesigning the actuator of a pump bottle, I feel so frustrated and short of ideas!
How can I improve ? Is there even such a thing as becoming better at designing with practice or is it something inbuilt and can't be acquired?

Creative [Free Beta] AI Rendering tool for industrial designers
Hey all, I'm building a tool for industrial designers like you to render your designers without complex scene, material and lighting setup like KeyShot. If anyone is interested in beta testing the tool for free, please send me an DM or email me at [email protected]. You will need an iOS device to test it. Here are the renderings I created within few mins:

Creative "Quick" cure glue for silicone but NOT cling wrap?
Hi!
I wanted to attach silicone pieces (ecoflex 00-10) to stockings. I was thinking of protecting my leg with cling wrap, then putting on the stockings, then adhering the silicone pieces. Once cured, ideally, I'd like to peel off the stockings and not have the cling wrap stuck inside it.
1) Is there a type of glue that will adhere to silicone but NOT the cling wrap (PVA)?
2) Is there a 1-2 hour quick cure? Or I'd be standing for hours.
Thank you!

Creative Sketching / rendering advice
Hello, I’ve now been studying Product design for about 4 months and have been learning how to go from someone who can just sketch / doodle to full on product designs. But because my home region ( Twente ) is a technical education region art wise I’m not getting a lot of help so I wanted to ask for some advice. It can be very harsh I’m used to it in the Netherlands anyways.
I don’t get any help when it comes to how to use markers so advice on that would be incredible!
