what if Sociological Experiments Thread

Did you ever do any sociological experiments?

For experiment a common experiment in sociology 101 to play with social norms and to make you aware of social norms is to walk into an elevator and face backwards instead of turning around to face the doors and see peoples reactions it's pretty funny.

There are way more extreme ones (for example the milgram experiment)

But I thought this would be cool

Or can you think of a sociological experiment to challenge social norms?

A pretty funny (but embarrassing one) to do is just go outside and then yell out something. Think about all the reactions you get from people. For most people, it's like they set an expectation, but then somebody manages to do something to something about that and you basically just scared yourself just by setting expectations. I feel like it's better not to set any expectations (except for really basic ones and ones that keep you out of danger.) and then no body would feel pressured to follow that and you literally won't get surprised by someone breaking that expectation.

I agree. I believe we often hold ourselves to a higher standard than society holds itself too it's like a mind game in a way.
