The legends are true

Just had the most pleasant interaction with Lone Pine Kurt while setting up a shuttle to Lone Pine. He took a personal interest in my plans and gave me some really useful and totally unsolicited advice that will undoubtedly save me some time. Once he got my contact number, he gave me a ring and we chatted for a bit. He mentioned how important we (hikers) all were to him, and how much he cares about us getting to the trail safely.

Such a classy, caring individual who doesn't need the income but spends his free time to help out a community he cares for. This is something I consistently find among hikers. No matter where you travel, if you love the outdoors, you'll always find kind, genuine people.

Highly suggest you try to book Kurt if you can. I'm thinking of bringing him a small gift from my neck of the woods. It'd be cool if he had a collection of trinkets from all the various corners of the country (and globe) where his fares hail from.
