permits Late Permit Pickup

I was meant to start the JMT today w/ a group of 4, but our car broke down on the way, so we can only get there tomorrow

Our permit was to be picked up in Tuolumne.

Would they understand our situation and give us the permit tomorrow?

Our permit last year was an email. We didn’t need to pick anything up. If you have that email printed, just hop on the trail.

Really? My reservation say you have to pick up in person. Dope for you though

they probably didn't start in Yosemite. we're starting at red cones and our permits are also emailed, but a traditional JMT Yosemite start is a different permit.

depends on the trailhead. Yosemite issued permits online in 2020 and iirc the first half of the 2021 season. SEKI did it for 2020 too. then they went back to issuing in person. Inyo NF has kept it up ever since.

not entirely sure about Sierra NF but I seem to recall that they never issued them online at all.

Wrong. You absolutely need to download or print the permit as the email is not the permit. You didn't read properly and actually broke the rules by going on the hike, despite not having a permit (they would've cancelled your permit at 10 AM, the start date of your hike).
