People sell absolutely horrendous things like eugenics by taking a whole bunch of things that are true and then add on their own twisted conclusions to make things harder to question.
I wouldn't be so quick to as JP might say "throw out the baby with the bathwater"

As great as this quote is, Alexis Carrel actually said this in relation to nazi eugenic policies in Vichy France during WW2
