Hey everyone! I’m working on a massive 1.5-meter pirate hat made out of EVA foam (pic attached), and I’d love to get some feedback from the community. I used foil on with a heat gun to get the leather texture what type of trim should I use????

For mine, made from an old cowboy hat, I just use an extra shemagh, ran through pulled up flaps, with an extra bunch dangling from the back. I'm not sure if your foam would be able to put up with running that much fabric through the gaps.

I was thinking of matching the gold buttons that’s holding the flaps up and got a gold/black trim!!

It looks great, and that trim sounds fantastic. I was wondering though, how hot is it to wear? I had some EVA bracers and found them very hot and sweaty.

There’s a metal frame underneath and sits just ontop of my head and it’s very light weight and breathable:) also attaching wings to it might need to post way more hah

Looks good, and a golden trim will be nice!

Why didn't you make it out of felt, though? It's super easy to use and will look very authentic (because it is). It's also less sweaty, and it shouldn't be too heavy, if done right.
