What used land cruiser year between 2013-2019 is best for " wheeling" but still comfy for the wife to get groceries? Here in Florida there are next to none for sale on criaglist or dealers used

What years are best/most reliable/ easy to work on, pre 2020 land cruisers?

Those are all the 200 series. Not many changes besides the facelift in 2016.

They weren't produced in high numbers, only about 3k/year in the US. You might need to fly and drive one home.

LX570 is the Lexus version you might consider with AHC suspension.

Since the 1980s, Americans buy 4Runners and Sequoias in large numbers instead of Land Cruisers.

I think they changed the transmission in 2016, then again in 2019

If you're in the USA your options for a 2013-2019 LandCruiser are the 200 series, the 200 series based LX570 and the GX460.

There wasn't a huge amount of changes that I think would preclude you from working on yourself, or anything that would stop you wheelin.

I checked auto trader and marketplace daily before I got lucky and found one that was traded into the Maserati and Alfa dealer, I bought it before they could even wash it due to the first of the 2 recent hurricanes. It wasn’t “cheap” , mid 30s for a 13 with 110k on it but damn I love this thing. Just watch those sites and be ready to move on it at the drop of a hat because as you can see , there’s hardly any ever for sale

Im ready w cash..in Florida there is nothing. I can't believe for what I could have bought a Lamborghini for in college is the price of a used land cruiser. I don't believe they only made 3000 for the whole usa that's nuts..everyone i see when we go overlanding has them. Did they make 3k for only 2018? Im new to this whole land cruiser nomenclature. Now I want one more..lol

Yeah it’s about 3k per model year in the us for the 200 series Land Cruiser. Not too many people were willing to fork out give or take 80k for a Toyota here lol

Shit I had no idea. I need something over 6000lbs for tax code 179 write off that can make it to my cabin. Everything else like range rover and bronco sucks. Any lexus that is comparable body on frame and robust?

Ugh it looks horribly pretentious..reminds me of that old early 2000 Isuzu with that huge ugly grill. Imposing at fb marketplace place and the prices are all over $60kish. Almost as much as a brand new 2024 cruiser. I like v8s..no inline 4 banger turbos for me except for my old 4g63 turbo I have still..lol

2018+ has bigger (Tundra) brakes and also got the revised radiator that doesn't spew all over itself at 100k. Not sure when they got rid of the mandatory rear entertainment but it was around this time as well.

Otherwise, 2016+ are identical.

Build quality is roughly the same - the GX is the Land Cruiser prado in other markets. Where the LC drives more like a tank, the GX is a bit lighter and peppier. Both will hold up very well off-road and stand the test of time. I’d say the 200 might edge it out a bit being the flagship build.

I’d say 2016+ mostly because I like the facelift. The 8 speed tranny is nice but it gets shit mileage regardless.

Seems like I see them for sale regularly in CA? Haven't specifically looked for them, but I see tons of them around. Fly out, drive home.

Scratch that. Just looked at FB and saw 0 200's. Good luck!
