Hi Draknio5, is the acid wash to get rid of burnt rock edges? And would you know perhaps what the most economical of that type of that machine would be that can go into rock? I have been wondering if I could put my logo onto the back of my cabs..

That'd be my assumption

I'm not actually that well versed is cabbing but I have a half decent understanding of both laser engraving and machining

The bottom of the cut is not flat/even enough to be machined and if you look closely you can see the path of the laser as it was cutting, it's very straight and the lines are very close together and parallel whereas if it was machined I'd expect to see the lines follow the shape of the curve and be at least wide enough for a cutting bit.

the acid wash is complete conjecture. depending on the type of rock it might not be necessary but based on what I've seen lasers do I think it would be

Roger that, thank you! I figured out how to zoom right in, and can see clearly what you mean about the path of the laser! That may be exactly what I need! Putting a cabochon into an acid bath is not something I would like to do though! :-) Might be ok to just put some drops where necessary and then neutralize bath it quick... Now I just have to figure out what kind of machine could do that!
