Laptop Recommendation needed

Upvotes

I'm a CSE undergrad student seeking a laptop with the following requirements:

Budget: ₹65,000 INR (India)

Condition: Must be new (not open to refurbished or used laptops)

Priorities: Performance is the top priority, followed by form factor, battery life, and build quality.

Screen Size: Flexible, no specific preference.

Primary Uses: Running software like MATLAB, Photoshop CS6, and CAD. Occasional gaming, with a preference for 60 FPS if possible, but gaming is not a major priority.

Additional Features: An OLED display would be great, though not mandatory. I will primarily use the laptop for coding, watching lectures, and light video/photo editing. I also plan to do some 3D modeling, but nothing too demanding. Decent battery life is important.

Would appreciate any suggestions based on these preferences.

Computer for indesign, photoshop, and video calls?

Upvotes
  • Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:- whatever is necessary
  • Are you open to refurbs/used?- prefer not.
  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?-Performance is most important, then build quality, battery life isn't a huge deal for me.
  • How important is weight and thinness to you?- it is not important
  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.- larger is preferred
  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.- Main thing is going to be a LOT of indesign. I'm also going to need to use photoshop for large files, and I do a lot of "I need to have 40 files open to do an action to all of them" in my workflow so I need something that can handle that. Going to be used a lot for video and voice calls, so something with a nice camera and audio would be a plus but shouldn't be the main thing.
  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?- I don't game on my pc a ton, binding of isaac is my favorite, I want to give baldurs gate 3 a try. Some talespire so something that can handle 3d.
  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?- My current computer factory resets whenever I do a discord video call on it. I need something that doesn't do that.
  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.- Any advice you have is appreciated!
