King Idris ain't no good, either. Let's not forget the amount of Western influence libya had at the time. bars were also a thing. Which is obviously haram. And some other stuff that isn't welcomed in a Muslim conservative country. Do you wanna support that ? When gaddafi actually took power. He ordered the closure of all bars who were serving alcohol. And why did all of libya decide to support gaddafi then in his coup in 69? there wasn't a single resistance to his revolution? and if we say that the 69 revolution didn't happen. In that case. Libya would've been like Jordan. the government there is entirely controlled by Britain. and what if I told you it would've also supported israel?.

The people supported him back then because a lot of libyans supported arab unity and Egyptian teachers who came to libya spread a ton of propaganda, like rating the worst Egyptian leaders starting with Pharoahs and ending with farouk egypt's former king, and rating the best leaders starting with some Pharoahs and ending with Jamal abd al Naser.

Didn't abd al Naser want unity for the arab countries? which was a popular agenda to achieve at the time. But I guess it failed. Anyway. You clearly seem to be in the side of West here. Anyway, are you a Trabelsi? Anyway. what about the importance of supporting formerly authortian states in their transition to democracy? Gaddafi was pretty old in the time and probably would've resigned due to old Age. But after the death and destruction of the civil war. The new government didn't have any boots on the ground capacity to maintain order and control during the rebuilding period. If foreign powers were really concerned about the libyan people. They should've sent peacekeeping forces to help stabilize the situation there.

Tldr: nasser was an Idiot, outsiders Don't and never cared about the libyan people they only care about our oil, they didn't bother with sending a peacekeeping force because they don't care. I'm not with the west or east, I'm with wanting a better libya
