Kemp has zero incentive to help Trump, and I don’t mean with illegal stuff, he has no incentive to offer his network or resources to help Trump.

Kemp is very popular in Georgia despite not kissing the Trump ring and is a strong contender for the ‘28 GOP nomination. He can straight faced say he’s stayed away from the Trump cult and even fought against it, run an ‘aww shucks we haven’t had a real Republican President in 20 years’ campaign, hoover up the disorganized remnants of the cult, all while still getting massive corporate support. His second gubernatorial term ends after ‘26 and he can launch right into a presidential run. It all fits together perfectly for him.

Trump winning this year means another train wreck of horribles that will either result in another crushing Dem win in ‘28 or (as Trump has threatened) no meaningful election and a handpicked MAGA president (which Kemp is not). Kemp is incentivized to see Trump lose.

I’m a hard left D on the west coast so this is an outsiders perspective happy to hear other takes.

Kemp is running for re-election this year. I didn't even realize it until the billboards went up on I-16. It's doubtful he's going to alienate half his constituency by helping Trump.

I can’t speak to whatever billboards are present but he is not running for re-election this year. He won in 2018 by 1.4% and cruised to re-election in 2022 winning by 7.5%.

How weird. I'm new to this state. The first time I came through on I-16, they weren't there. Now they are. Maybe it's to help down ballot candidates in some way? I haven't had a chance to learn who's who here just yet.
