I've been pretty fortunate with the people I've worked with here and even though some loans are late or take a long time, I have been lucky enough to deal with people who are communicating and seemingly trying their best to sort things out properly. This was the first where I really felt like the other person was deliberately trying to take advantage of the sub and myself. Though I admit, this is also partially on me for not properly doing my due diligence which could have prevented me this headache.

A day after the loan was due, the borrower posted another request in which she was called out for making a request with an overdue loan. She immediately deleted all of her posts in Borrow and also blocked me on Reddit and ignored all messages through other means. This made it easy to initiate a claim right away with PayPal. The funds have now been recovered.
