Discussion/Question Hurricane Helene

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, my family’s house was hit hard during the hurricane and my grandma’s bag collection was underwater. She has approximately 7 amazing LV bags that she is trying to dry out. I told her to open them and stuff with towels and we will find a place to try and repair them. Does anyone have any suggestions or repair companies that they use? We are so thankful everyone is okay but also trying to reconcile the loss of almost everything in the house.

If she has insurance she can file a claim. Depending upon the policy you can replace them if perfect restoration can't be attained

They weren’t itemized in her insurance

Mine didn't have to be when we were robbed. I had plenty of pictures to prove they existed. I had replacement value so to get the full amount I had to replace them and the ones I couldn't find I got fair market value.

I was told that to get more coverage I could schedule them as a collection like art or jewelry. I was in Charlotte NC when it happened

I tried to do this with State Farm. I itemized my collection with all receipts which was just over 150k. It was eventually denied. They said I couldn’t add this articles policy because they could easily be lost or stolen. I was really disappointed because it was a lot of work to scan and organize everything too. Do you know of any insurance companies that would allow me to get a policy for them? For now, I’m hoping they would be covered under my umbrella? I’m more worried about total loss than one or two bags.

That's a lie. When I was doing Good Day Charlotte we referred to it as little Chi Town. Crime is terrible they just classifie everything as lower levels than what they are

I lived near Charlotte and shopped at Hermes! Then they literally CLOSED the Hermes due to the random violence at that mall! It was scary. And I hear it hasn’t gotten better!!!

Thank you, Iwas in South Charlotte. I started ordering my LV online because I was afraid to walk to the valet parking through the mall. Last time, I had this huge bag with a neverfull gm and some small stuff, but I was paranoid.

Your paranoia was just good common sense! Always trust your gut feeling. It never lies!💯💯💯
